I bet your Superbowl party didn’t end like this

Fact: I spent exactly 5 hours yesterday shoveling delicious food into my mouth. Something about talking with my family and hovering around the food blocks my ability to stop eating.

We got together at my sister Leah’s house and made bets on who we thought would win and the scores. I lost. I was rooting for the 49er’s 35-21, fail. I didn’t watch the game much, instead I chatted with my sisters, played with Jackson and ate more food.

Jackson maybe had too much food and decided to have a blowout. He loved taking a bath in a new to him bath.

Jackson helped Leah tickle my mom’s back after his bath. Too cute!

As we were getting ready to leave my nephew who is 7 drew us all special ‘thank you’ cards that he used to wrap a cookie to ‘eat on the way home.’ This is the one I got. I bet you didn’t get thank you cards for coming to your Superbowl party, just sayin.

Well, I think it’s time I get my run in. I need to put in some extra work today for the 10 cookie bars I enjoyed last night=)

Did you go to a Superbowl party?

Are you running today? How many miles? Inside or outside?

What was your favorite thing you ate at your Superbowl party?

About Sugar Plum Runner

Welcome to the Sugar Plum Runner! I grew up in WA state, but currently reside in UT with my husband Josh, son Jackson, and 2 daughters Lily and Claire. I love running, but I have never been so inspired to run, race, and blog about it since 4 years ago after I had Jackson. I grew up playing soccer and cheered in high school. My favorite part of both sports(and yes I consider cheer leading a sport) was the conditioning. I found myself running after practice was over on my own. That's when I realized that running may be the sport I really loved.

  1. love fun parties with lots of food. . . makes the run the next day totally worth it! I am running (hopefully) 5 miles in beautiful weather – on vacay in florida right now!

  2. That is so so sweet! You’re right, my Super Bowl didn’t end like that. I spent the first half of the game by myself in my house, but the second half I went out with a couple friends and had some chips and dips and a couple margaritas. I made myself some vegetarian pulled “pork” for dinner to feel like I was being festive. I ran this morning, only 2 miles though because I had some tummy issues this morning. It was a beautiful morning for a run too.

  3. I am so glad to see that someone else enjoyed food like I did yesterday! Our tables looked very similar and I loved every minute of it!

  4. I definitely ate tons of super bowl foods last night too. It’s so good though! One of my friends was talking about getting a veggie tray and healthier foods but we agreed that you only eat these foods every once in a while so might as well go all out!

  5. Who doesn’t love hanging out around food and devouring it all!! Spent my Super Bowl party pretty much the same way! 🙂

  6. Lots of great food!!! 😀
    I was going for the 49ers too..achhhh!
