18 months

Monday- 5 miles, 9:24 pace + weights

Monday’s run flew by for me. I wasn’t running too fast, but when I was done I just kept thinking, “Did I already finish 5 miles?”  Now before you get all, “wow ain’t she just so special, she runs 5 miles and feels nothing!” That’s not the case. Anything more than 2 miles is usually mentally boring or tough for me. I think it has a lot to do with Sunday being a rest day for me. My legs are usually excited to run, but not all the time.

Have you ever had a run that just happens? Do you think there’s a cause for it? Do you take rest days?

Since this blog is also a way for me to document my family, the next part is all about my little J=)

Jackson turned 18 months on Sunday! I can not believe he’s already 1.5 years old. As I’m sure you can tell from the excessive amount of pictures I post of him, I’m pretty obsessed. He is at such a funny age. I feel like he understands me and Josh a lot more which makes life fun. He’s starting to talk a lot, mostly words that pertain to the things he’s obsessed with: Dino-saur(dino is really emphasized, and the saur is whispered haha), nack(snack), milk, momma, dad, alligay(alligator), book, sss(horse), cheese(for pictures, not the food).

The stats from his check up: pretty simple, he’s in the 50% in weight(25lb), height(32.5in), and 82% head circumference (19in).

This last week we visited the Dr. 2 times and both times he had to get shots. Yesterday he was not happy to be there again, but after he realized he wasn’t going to be poked he started to loosen up.

Last night he was so hyper. Our Jackson was finally feeling better and ready to party!

I’m headed North to hang out with my mom and sister today, I love having my mom in town=). Have a great Tuesday!

About Sugar Plum Runner

Welcome to the Sugar Plum Runner! I grew up in WA state, but currently reside in UT with my husband Josh, son Jackson, and 2 daughters Lily and Claire. I love running, but I have never been so inspired to run, race, and blog about it since 4 years ago after I had Jackson. I grew up playing soccer and cheered in high school. My favorite part of both sports(and yes I consider cheer leading a sport) was the conditioning. I found myself running after practice was over on my own. That's when I realized that running may be the sport I really loved.

  1. Happy 18 months to Jackson! And great job on the 5 miles, it’s nice to have runs like those 🙂

  2. Happy 18 months!! I get those feelings on my long runs usually, anywhere between 5-7 miles. I just get into the zone.. I also get terribly sweaty, but it’s so worth it. I think it’s just a mental thing. I LOVE running and I LOVE the runner’s high, and I think that’s when the runner’s high is at it’s peak for me. I usually take 2 rest days a week, run 3 miles two days a week, 1 5-mile run, and a 6+ run one day a week.

  3. Aw happy 18 months to the little cutie! Enjoy hanging with you mom 🙂

  4. Just getting caught up on your blog. So sorry J had croup!! Ugh, that sounds really horrible, but so glad to hear he’s doing better. Happy 18 months to him! Such a fun age!

  9. Gosh the time goes by so fast – doesn’t it! Love hearing the words he is saying and how he says them – especially dinasaur! Some runs are like that for me too – and I have no idea what causes them. 😉
