Josh’s Birthday and Weekly goals

Workout

Saturday/Sunday-rest

This weekend was so much fun celebrating Josh’s birthday with him and having my mom in town.

We went shopping at the outlets by our house. Josh got a couple of gift cards and wanted to use them. He found some great deals on shoes, pants, and shirts! We love to bargain shop.

Both of our eyes are squinting from the sun, but it's the only photo I took haha

We met up with my sister Leah and her kids for lunch at Rumbi’s. I got the Aloha Chicken salad again. . . I know I need to try new things but it’s hard when I know how good the old is!

Picture from a couple of weekends ago, different day, same salad=)

We all headed to Ikea because we all were in need of certain things. J loves when Josh puts him on his shoulders=)

We dropped my mom off at the airport=( and were pretty tired. Instead of going out to dinner for Josh’s bday we decided to order take out and chill at home. Josh ordered Sushi and Miso soup from our favorite place. One of Josh’s gifts was a remote helicopter=) The boys had a lot of fun with it last night. I think he had a great Birthday!

Weekly Goals

Last week I wanted to try and limit our TV watching till after 2pm, do 3 weight training workouts, and find a new book to read.

I wasn’t always able to limit our TV watching till after 2pm, but I was able to limit our TV watching throughout the week. There were some days that I  J watched TV so I could run or shower. But the rest of the days I tried really hard to find fun things for us to do. Even though he’s been feeling great he was still coughing so we didn’t see many friends this week.

I did do 2 weight training workout this week, but since I didn’t workout yesterday I didn’t do any weights either. 2 is better than 0, so I’ll take it!

My book club’s book this month is A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L’Engle.(If anyone in our neighborhood is interested in book club, message me!) I’m enjoying it so far, but it’s a quick read. I think my next book will be one you I was suggested last week, Gone Girl.

Goals for February 11-17th

1. Do 3 quality weight training workouts( I want to keep with this goal)

2. Run over 3o miles this week.

3. Play with friends now that J is 100% better.

What did you do this weekend?

Did you run? Any Birthdays?

About Sugar Plum Runner

Welcome to the Sugar Plum Runner! I grew up in WA state, but currently reside in UT with my husband Josh, son Jackson, and 2 daughters Lily and Claire. I love running, but I have never been so inspired to run, race, and blog about it since 4 years ago after I had Jackson. I grew up playing soccer and cheered in high school. My favorite part of both sports(and yes I consider cheer leading a sport) was the conditioning. I found myself running after practice was over on my own. That's when I realized that running may be the sport I really loved.

  1. gah such a throwback a wrinkle in time. I loved that book!

  2. This weekend I spent Friday recovering, Saturday I did a 12-mile run and went out, and today I was super super lazy and didn’t do anything but sleep and cook. I cleaned yesterday, but that’s about it. I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on Gone Girl if you choose to read it for the next go-around. I read it a couple months ago and enjoyed it. I’m glad that Jackson is feeling better!

  3. I spent my weekend trying to unwind from my hectic work week… I’m hoping to get in some good workouts myself this week!
