Valentine’s Prep

Wednesday-6 miles, slow + arm workout

Here’s what it looked like:

Yesterday I had a couple of friends over to decorate Valentine cookies. Our kids found it more entertaining to frost their mouths rather than the cookies. I have the best job ever.=)

Speaking of Valentine’s it’s tomorrow! Since our anniversary is the week of Valentine’s we got a few wedding gifts related to the holiday. I want to make a delicious dessert to go in this heart pan. What would you rather eat for Valentine’s dessert?

Choice #1

No Bake Strawberry Cake

NoBakeStrawberryCakeChoice #2

Raspberry Cookie Tart

raspberrycookietartJosh isn’t a huge fan of dessert, so I compromise by finding desserts that involve fruit which he’s a big fan of.

What are you doing for Valentines?

Do you like getting flowers? I do not like getting flowers, they are expensive and they die haha I would much rather get a nice card that I can keep forever=)

About Sugar Plum Runner

Welcome to the Sugar Plum Runner! I grew up in WA state, but currently reside in UT with my husband Josh, son Jackson, and 2 daughters Lily and Claire. I love running, but I have never been so inspired to run, race, and blog about it since 4 years ago after I had Jackson. I grew up playing soccer and cheered in high school. My favorite part of both sports(and yes I consider cheer leading a sport) was the conditioning. I found myself running after practice was over on my own. That's when I realized that running may be the sport I really loved.

  1. single girl right here who works till 830 pm that night, lame! Hope you have a great vday, those desserts look amazing

  2. Aw, it looks like your kids had a great time frosting cookies. I would go with the raspberry tart, but I’m biased and am a HUGE fan of raspberries, which is why I would choose that one. 🙂 I’m not really doing anything for Valentine’s Day by choice, and I agree, flowers can be a waste of money, especially around Valentine’s Day when the prices skyrocket. Potted plants can be nice, though, if you can keep them alive.

  3. YUM to both – but I would make the raspberry cookie tart. 🙂

Both deserts look absolutely delicious, but I think if it was up to me I’d choose number two – the tart 🙂 And I am totally with you on the flowers thing! Have a lovely Valentines and Happy Anniversary!

  5. I will be likely be running in the morning, work and then enjoying some vino on the couch watching my shows that evening! BF lives in Houston. :-/ Hope you have a wonderful V-day!!

  6. Strawberry pie!!!

I’m having a lady date with two girlfriends. We’re gonna have a heart shaped pizza, some beer, get dressed up and go celebrate being single! this is my first time being single for valentine’s day in 3 years, but I’m surprisingly not sad. I’m super excited to just be silly and wear all the pink in my closet.

  7. I am not much of a flower girl, but I am definitely a dessert girl and those heart tins are adorable!! 🙂

  8. ahh to be a kid again and just eat all the icing in the world and have that be OK and normal…haha!
