Just a Typical Tuesday

Workout

Tuesday- 3 miles, 9:39 pace, slow and really hard for me. Today’s run was just one I wanted to be finished before I even started. I’m glad I did 3, it’s better than 0 in my mind. After, I did core workout, I think it will be the death of me. At least I had my buddy alongside ‘working out’ with me=)

We met up with my family yesterday at The Lion House in Salt Lake. It’s this cute little restaurant that makes really good comfort food. Seriously, I basically had a delicious Thanksgiving meal. J loved the jello, and I love mashed potatoes! (I’m glad I got a good workout in today, my long weekend eats have been so delicious and not so nutritious. I need to keep up the workouts all week!)

We walked around the new shopping center called City Creek and let the kids play by the fountain for awhile. J was terrified of it at first, but then wanted to play by it like the other kids.

Today I’m catching up on laundry and scrubbing my house. I put it off all weekend so we could play. It feels good to get everything back in order and be back to a routine.

Welcome to the Sugar Plum Runner! I grew up in WA state, but currently reside in UT with my husband Josh, son Jackson, and 2 daughters Lily and Claire. I love running, but I have never been so inspired to run, race, and blog about it since 4 years ago after I had Jackson. I grew up playing soccer and cheered in high school. My favorite part of both sports(and yes I consider cheer leading a sport) was the conditioning. I found myself running after practice was over on my own. That's when I realized that running may be the sport I really loved.

  1. Pretty typical Tuesday over here for me too…core workouts! Love them and don’t do them enough. I like to do mountain climbers, planks, russian twists to work my core.

    cycle class and a littler run today with some quick upper body too. it’s sooo cold out today. it looks beautiful but very deceiving. tuesday nights at the gym they have a family fitness class that i take my kids to. they LOVE it. it’s usually circuits with a few active games. and after that is our relief society activity. we’re making magnet cups to keep on the fridge so that our kids can get their own drinks of water. it should be cute!

  4. Typical Tuesday for me here too! Work from 8:30 – 5 and then class from 5 – 6:15. I have to study for an exam I have tomorrow and watch Pretty Little Liars and then go to bed 😀 i’m exhausted.

  5. Oof, that core workout sounds tough. I’ve had those days when you don’t feel like running and you’re super slow. At least you listened to your body and didn’t push it, and getting some easy miles in will probably help you feel better. My day is pretty typical, too–cleaning, etc. Have a great Tuesday!

  10. when I do core workouts(which has been unbelievably rare in the last several months), I love youtubing the Pop Pilates videos – she has great stuff!
