Monday Runday…finally=)

Monday- 7 miles, 9:51 pace

Yesterday I made banana chocolate chip pancakes for the boys and I. They were delicious! J gobbled his up and wanted more, that boy can eat!

Josh usually has meetings for church on Sunday so J and I had fun playing. . .  with my phone camera ha(what’s new?)

Monday Runday

7 miles on the treadmill at a .5% incline never felt so good. I kept it slow and steady because I don’t want to overdo it. Things I learned on my run:

It feels good to be able to breathe through my nose. Running might be impossible/miserable without that function, so I’m so grateful I can breathe.

post run, and my ‘so happy I can run’ smile

The more snacks I bring for J, the happier he and I both are=) This is him after eating the banana, raisins, fruit snacks, and graham crackers. He figured out how to smash the box down and was really proud haha

Slowing down my run doesn’t make me a slow runner. Sometimes I get caught up in every run having to ‘be the fastest’ and that’s just not true. It’s important to have recovery runs.

I love my treadmill, seriously. I don’t know what I’d do without it. It’s too cold to bring J outside for a run, and I’m so so grateful I can still run=)

Do you like the treadmill?

What was your run today?

About Sugar Plum Runner

Welcome to the Sugar Plum Runner! I grew up in WA state, but currently reside in UT with my husband Josh, son Jackson, and 2 daughters Lily and Claire. I love running, but I have never been so inspired to run, race, and blog about it since 4 years ago after I had Jackson. I grew up playing soccer and cheered in high school. My favorite part of both sports(and yes I consider cheer leading a sport) was the conditioning. I found myself running after practice was over on my own. That's when I realized that running may be the sport I really loved.

  2. Yeah for Monday runday! I like the treadmill, but only cause I can watch TV (Netflix!) when I am on it.. . otherwise, I think I would die from boredom!

I am not a fan of the treadmill…I literally have to drag myself onto the thing and can’t wait to get off once I’ve started. haha. So glad you are back in action!!

    • haha I used to feel the same way. Back in high school when my mom didn’t think it was safe for me to run outside alone she would ask me to run on the treadmill. I’d get so mad because I hated it soo much. Oh how the times have changed…

  4. Glad to see you are back to your running, I know how much you love it! And 7 miles to boot!? You go, girl! Have a great afternoon!!

The treadmill is not where I’d prefer to run. Since I will have to use it again many times, I’m sure, I am going to try not to hate it! You’re right, it is a Godsend when you can’t run outside.
    My run today – 3 miles! Taper-time!

  9. Okay first off, your son is precious!! 🙂 And yes I do like the treadmill (I have a treadmill run to do tonight) but I am looking forward to some nicer weather to get to training outside.

  10. Your little boy is so cute! I cannot get over those cheeks!
