Races, Baby, Dinosaurs Oh My!

Saturday-4 miles, slow and steady 9:38pace

After 2 days off, I was ready to run again. I had no intentions of taking 2 days off this week(will be 3 counting this Sunday), but I felt like it so I did. The end.

Me and my running bud

I have a lot of randoms today, but let’s start with a race. I finally signed up for a half marathon that I have been eying. It’s the Riverton Half on March 23rd. It’s a small race, close to my house just the way I like it. I have a few other races(5k, another half, and maybe, just maybe a full?) I really want to run, but I’m saving my pennies before I sign up for them. One of them may even be a Ragnar!!! (crossing my fingers it works out)

Yesterday we had some friends/cousins over. J was really interested in Maya, but really wanted to poke her eyes too. . .We settled on just her hair.

We also had some errands to run at a nearby dinosaur museum. J was so excited just walking through the doors. So we strolled around the ‘free’ area. He talked to Josh on the phone while we were there and just kept repeating, “dinosaur, dinosaur, rarrrr!!”

What races are you running this year?

Any suggestions on what my next posts should be about?

About Sugar Plum Runner

Welcome to the Sugar Plum Runner! I grew up in WA state, but currently reside in UT with my husband Josh, son Jackson, and 2 daughters Lily and Claire. I love running, but I have never been so inspired to run, race, and blog about it since 4 years ago after I had Jackson. I grew up playing soccer and cheered in high school. My favorite part of both sports(and yes I consider cheer leading a sport) was the conditioning. I found myself running after practice was over on my own. That's when I realized that running may be the sport I really loved.

    Loving the little man pics! I will always vote for more baby related posts (;

  3. So fun! I’ll be excited to hear about the race… I signed up for a virtual 5K that I am working on my speed right now. . but on other races on the calendar right now.

  4. I think I’m signing up for a trail marathon in Inverness, Florida, tonight! Been wanting to try a Ragnar forever too. The races close to your house are the best though. So much easier to get to and sleep the night before.

  7. i like races close to home too. why add the extra stress of traveling? i’m signed up for a 1/2 at the end of april. in minnesota i thought that would be plenty of time for the weather to be decent. possibly a full in june and or october. we’ll see how my legs and feet hold up. i would LOVE to do a relay. never tried it and used to not interest me. but now i’d love to. if you like to save $ on races (who doesn’t?) i bought a race bib for my marathon on craigslist 2 weeks before the race. there were TONS of them for sale so i knew i could get one and i ended up only spending $30 for the twin cities!
