Wednesday-6 miles, early morning run with Lindsay
It was seriously, such a beautiful run. Beautiful sunrise and an even better conversation. Lindsay and I have one more run on the books and then she’s off to Portland, OR. Anyone out there want to be her new running buddy? She’s taking applications…

Winter Running Gear
I didn’t do all my running outside this Winter. If you’ve been reading my blog for a hot second you’d know I’m madly in love with my treadmill=) but I did invest in some great winter running gear for a great price.
My top favorite shops for running clothes are: Target, TJ Max, Old Navy, and Ross. I like these stores because they still have great clothes but they don’t break the bank.
Running pants: TJ Max-$16(if you get them anywhere like Nike, Under Armor, etc. they are usually $60 or more)
The inside is a warm fleece, and I love that they are tight so they don’t feel heavy.
Nike Jacket: Nike- on sale $30, orig. $75
I love the pockets(one on each side and a back pocket), thumb holes, hand coverings, and the inside is really warm. It’s also very light weight(think light like a wind breaker).
Nike Pullover-Christmas gift 2 years ago-$no idea, my husband used a gift card so it truly was free=)
I love the hand coverings and the hood(even though it looks absolutely ridiculous to wear). It’s a heavier material than the jacket and doesn’t have pockets but it keeps me very warm.
Long Sleeve shirt: TJ Max- $7.99
I love the color, the fit, and how light weight it is. It wicks away sweat and was super affordable.
*If I would’ve run outside more in the Winter I think I would have wanted to invest in ear warmers and sleeker gloves. I usually would wear my fleece gloves but they were bulky and made me hands feel claustrophobic.
If you sign up for any of these races, let me know and we can all meet up=)
What gear got you through this Winter of running?
Where are you favorite places to shop? Do you like to find good deals? Do you have to have name brands?
I love wearing North Face running jackets..gotta have the thumb holes!!
I’ve never had one, I may have to go check them out today=)
tJ maxx always has the most affordable gear.
agreed! You may have to search a bit but when you find it it’s totally worth it!
I love TJ Maxx for running gear! I would not have been able to get thru winter running without my gloves.
I love when races provide throw away gloves too, I always want them at the beginning of a run, but then I get too hot.
I see all these bloggers rave about TJ Maxx, but the only TJ Maxxes I have ever been to have been dirty, run-down, and have had very little to offer! I have to see if there’s a nicer one in my area. I have been hitting up Target for new running gear or the sales racks at Dick’s. I don’t need name brand anything, but if it’s on sale, I will snatch it up!
I totally agree. If I go to a TJ Maxx in the city I don’t find anything. I have to go to certain ones haha
Don’t you just love TJ Maxx?? They have amazing deals! 🙂
I really do. I got the cutest purse there for only $40! Steal!
Old Navy had a ridiculous sale on their athletic wear a fewmonths ago and I stocked up. Otherwise I always wait for sales at my favorite stores like REI and CitySports.
I remember that! I love old navy a lot, I’m there too often haha I love their tank tops.
I love a good deal! I pretty much never pay full price for anything unless it’s absolutely necessary. How cool are those hand covers on your jacket?!?!
I love the hand covers on my jackets. Seriously, such a life saver on chillier runs.
TJ Maxx has amazing steals, like your blue shirt! And so cute 🙂 How’s the quality of the Target gear you bought? Does it hold up well? I’ve been tempted to try their workout clothing.
I love target running Gear. It holds up great, but the sport bras(or the ones that I bought) aren’t as tight as I usually like them. But Some days on ‘lighter’ training days I love wearing them.
There isn’t a TJ MAXX in Flagstaff, but we have a Marshall’s and a Ross so I hit them up for gear all the time!
We had a very cold and snowy winter and so we got all kinds of gear (I am not in love with my treadmill!). I found the weather wasn’t what got in the way of a good run ~ wearing not enough or too much did!
