Easter/Weekend/Word Vomit

Friday- yard work

It was beautiful outside and I actually really enjoy yard work. Maybe because our yard is perfect size, as in not very large at all. I feel like it’s very manageable and easy to spruce up. I even bought a couple pansy flowers and violas. I may need to splurge and get a few more, but I’m loving the little touch of color the flowers bring=)

Saturday- 8 miles, 9:13 pace

Ran with Lindsay, she’s leaving for OR on Monday and I’m sad=( I’m now taking new running buddy applications, no not even applications, anyone will do. I just need someone to listen to my rambles…

The rest of Saturday was spent Spring cleaning. No, let me re-phrase that, Josh was Spring cleaning. He tackled one of our deepest darkest storage rooms! And now it has shelving(which he also built) and you can actually find things, open the door, and now we have a lot more space!

I love Easter. I love the true meaning of Easter and that I get to reflect on my Savior and what He did for me and for all of us. I also love traditions we get to do as family.

J was in a great mood all day. Could it be because he woke up to presents, got a new outfit for church, and then got to see all his cousins while running around finding overstuffed eggs full of candies??? Yes, yes it could. Okay, this was a couple days before Easter and he did not like getting his fingers or legs dirty with dye.

We stopped by my in-laws before heading to my sisters(we trade off each year). We needed to get pics of the boys together in their matching outfits=)SAM_2413 SAM_2425 SAM_2434

How was your Easter? Who did Easter egg hunts?

Anyone else do some Spring cleaning?

What was your last long run? was it difficult?

About Sugar Plum Runner

Welcome to the Sugar Plum Runner! I grew up in WA state, but currently reside in UT with my husband Josh, son Jackson, and 2 daughters Lily and Claire. I love running, but I have never been so inspired to run, race, and blog about it since 4 years ago after I had Jackson. I grew up playing soccer and cheered in high school. My favorite part of both sports(and yes I consider cheer leading a sport) was the conditioning. I found myself running after practice was over on my own. That's when I realized that running may be the sport I really loved.

  1. I’m cracking up… J looks like a total ladies man in that picture where he’s all relaxed. I spent my Easter with friends and great food, so it was an overall great day! I overestimated how much work goes into throwing a simple dinner party, especially if you’re doing all the prep work by yourself! I haven’t run longer than six miles since last month because of some IT issues, but I’m hoping to get a good run in this weekend now that I’m finally feeling better!

Looks like an awesome Easter! I totally miss egg hunts- maybe I should organize an adult one with friends next year.

  6. Aw J! I don’t blame him for not wanting to get the dye on his fingers. So cute! Family traditions are the best. Hope you had a great one!

  7. 8 miles is amazing! I would love to get a long run like that in soon!

We are in the process of finding a house so our spring cleaning will hopefully be when that all closes. What a LONG process!!

My long run this weekend was 20 miles. I was so tired going into it so it was definitely a tough run. I managed to drag myself through it and not die so I’d say it was a success.

  10. Those matching outfits are adorable!
Poor J not enjoying the egg coloring festivities… I guess not everyone likes to get dirty! 🙂
