Why do I even buy baby toys?

Tuesday- 4.5 miles, 8:53 pace

I can’t remember the last time I did a .5 mile instead of just finishing up the mile. Well, yesterday J was done and since he’s usually amazing and lets me do 6-7 miles I called it quits. It was a tempo run(ran .5 mile at my half marathon goal pace, 7:53) of sorts:

1 mile w/u: 9:40 pace

.5 mile 7:53 pace, .5 mile 9:13 pace (did that for 2.5 miles)

1 mile cool down: 9:13 pace

Lately I’ve caught J into some funny things. Like yesterday, I couldn’t find him while I was busy with dinner when all of a sudden he pops out of our hutch. Sneaky lil guy…

Today while I was cooking lunch, I look over and he had found himself a new ‘hat.’

Seriously, why do I even bother with the whole room downstairs of toys?? It’s the little things in life that he enjoys(let’s hope he stays that way;))

While I was in WA my friends from high school, Joey and Sheri, stopped by with their new little girl. Joey and Sheri were some of my best friends and they ended up getting married, presh, I know.Β  I forgot to take a pic of us, but this is Sheri and I in high school.

J may have met his future wife for the first time, wink wink.

Jackson was also very clingy to my dad the whole trip. Now I know why. . .

Hope you are all having another wonderful week. Can you believe it’s already Wednesday?

Did your grandparents ever bribe you?

Did you marry your high school sweetheart? Nope, I married my college sweatheart=)

Anyone else getting antsy to race? I can’t wait for the end of the month for my half!

About Sugar Plum Runner

Welcome to the Sugar Plum Runner! I grew up in WA state, but currently reside in UT with my husband Josh, son Jackson, and 2 daughters Lily and Claire. I love running, but I have never been so inspired to run, race, and blog about it since 4 years ago after I had Jackson. I grew up playing soccer and cheered in high school. My favorite part of both sports(and yes I consider cheer leading a sport) was the conditioning. I found myself running after practice was over on my own. That's when I realized that running may be the sport I really loved.

I love the title of this post. Every time I’m home for holidays and birthdays I tell my sister I’m going to give her kids (my two nieces and nephew) an empty box. They play with the toy boxes more than the toys!

  9. The pictures of Jackson with his future wife are adorable! πŸ˜‰

I’m getting antsy for my half too! ahh!

  10. There is a race on campus this weekend (a 5K) that I’m thinking about signing up for because I just cannot get enough of it!
My grandparents probably bribed me and I didn’t even know it. To me, it was just LOVE and GOOD FOOD! πŸ™‚
