Thursday- 3.5 miles, 8:47 pace (outside) + 12 min arm workout + 3 min ab workout

I tried to get up early and get a longer run in this morning, but my pillow was oh so comfy. I slept in until 7 only leaving me about 30 min to run until the hubs leaves for work. I took a nice stroll around the neighborhood. PS it’s gorgeous out today, no more snow=)

Don’t be alarmed if a rat crawls out of my hair. Or that my creepy smile scares your small children.

I thought it deserved a close up. . . Good thing I’m getting this wild mane tamed today.

FFF aka Fun Friday Facts

1. J loves cookies. Yesterday he had one at 10:30 am while my brakes were being inspected. Some days we all just need to start our day with cookies or chocolate.

2. J found his life jacket while I was vacuuming out the car and wanted to wear it all day. So he did. Even on our walk. I’m sure our neighbors don’t think we’re weird at all, probably just think I’m a really protective mom and make him wear extra padding on our walks. (maybe I do. . .)

3. The other day J was begging for his applesauce snack. It’s the kind that comes in a pouch and all J has to do is suck it out like he would a straw. He got a little too excited when I handed it to him and it went all over his face. He was very sad.

4. Josh and I first held hands the night this picture was taken. He took me(and my friend Amanda and her date) to an old abandon house. We just wanted to check it out and see how spooky it was.Β  In order to get there we had to hike in the dark woods through some slippery paths. Luckily, Josh was there to hold my hand and help me make it safe=)

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAAny cute/funny/awkward dating stories?

Sometimes I get splattered with my food too, like every time I open a yogurt. Who’s figured out the best way to open a yogurt without getting covered by it?

About Sugar Plum Runner

Welcome to the Sugar Plum Runner! I grew up in WA state, but currently reside in UT with my husband Josh, son Jackson, and 2 daughters Lily and Claire. I love running, but I have never been so inspired to run, race, and blog about it since 4 years ago after I had Jackson. I grew up playing soccer and cheered in high school. My favorite part of both sports(and yes I consider cheer leading a sport) was the conditioning. I found myself running after practice was over on my own. That's when I realized that running may be the sport I really loved.

  1. J in his life jacket, so darn cute I can’t take it! Love how kids get such silly thoughts into their heads and are too young to worry about what other people will think, awesome πŸ™‚ When I first started dating my boyfriend, we were hanging out in my parents basement and he got so excited he picked me up and he is so tall my head went through the drop ceiling lol!

  2. Erin says:

Your smile is not creepy- you look gorgeous!
And the first time I met Stu I thought he was a jerk lol. My exact words to my roommate who introduced us was “That Stu guy is hot but a dick”

    • Oh my gosh that’s horrible hahah How did he eventually win your heart or convince you to go on another date?

      • Erin says:

Well later that night he ended up changing his attitude lol. He was a mechanic at the time and I was telling him how my jeep was having problems- he gave me his number and told me to call him and he would fix it. Later that night I texted him so that he had my number too and he called me and said that he hated texting and we ended up talking for like 5 hours!! The rest is history haha

      • That is so awesome, 5 hours?! It was def meant to be! I’m glad he turned out not to be a jerk haha

  3. jumpeatrun says:

The life jacket is cracking me up! We have sun again too and the snow is all gone! I have to open yogurt facing away from me, otherwise it always splatters all over!

  4. All of these photos are so cute πŸ™‚ I love the idea of him walking around in a life jacket all day!

    I love old dating stories!

  5. That life jacket is adorable!! I’m sure the neighbors thought it was cute too! And your hand holding story is so sweet! I can’t wait to have another date to have those special moments!

  6. megbek says:

Oh my freaking gosh! How adorable is J in that life jacket??? Haha I definitely would have thought, “What is that all about!!?” Precious! πŸ™‚ Good run this morning, great pace. What are you doing to your hair? It’s so long and beautiful, don’t get rid of it!!!

  7. Caitlyn says:

oh my gosh SO, so cute about the lifejacket!! i’m sure he brought a smile to the neighbors who saw!

  8. Oh my gosh I am terrified of haunted houses…real or staged. I can’t handle it! J looks so cute in his life jacket!! Can’t even handle it.

On our second date, my ex and I had spent all day together and we were only getting a little hungry, so we stopped at taco bell. Well, on the way home, he farted in the car and misjudged the sound/intensity (haha this might be TMI). It was winter time in Chicago, so we couldn’t open the windows and he was SOO embarrassed. I just kept laughing in but he just kept saying “oh no oh no oh no oh no oh no.” Still one of my favorite memories haha

  9. I have never been to a real haunted house! We went to a small one at the fair last year and my BF was cracking up laughing because I was screaming like a baby!

  10. Ever since we moved to Flagstaff (at 7,000 feet) we open everything in the direction of our open mouths so we don’t end up with it on our clothes or faces! Poor little guy! That picture of him in his life jacket is priceless!
