Highlights and Burn

Workout

Friday- 3.71 mi run with my friend Vanessa

It was so much fun catching up with her and getting a nice run in before the day starts. It was a bit early(for me, V gets up way before the crack of dawn every day) so I just took a pic of our matching running pants. We both agreed it was a bit warm to be wearing them, but I’d rather be too warm than too cold!

I mentioned yesterday that I was getting my ‘hair tamed’ and by that I meant highlighted. Wow! I forget how horrible my hair looks until I get it done again. I’m so glad I finally found a salon that I love. (Utahn’s it’s called Salon Shag in Sandy)

The rest of the day consisted of doing lots and lots of yard work. I still don’t even feel like I’m half way done. But at least I got a nice tan burn to show for it.

J relaxed and ate lunch next to me while I worked. ( J didn’t get burned, he took a nap and I guess I was out a little too long).

Friday night we stayed in and just relaxed. We needed a chill weekend, and I’m more than happy to welcome a bit of ice cream and some Office reruns.

Did you have a chill or crazy Friday night?

Anyone else getting some Sun this weekend? I’m def wearing sunscreen tomorrow!

About Sugar Plum Runner

Welcome to the Sugar Plum Runner! I grew up in WA state, but currently reside in UT with my husband Josh, son Jackson, and 2 daughters Lily and Claire. I love running, but I have never been so inspired to run, race, and blog about it since 4 years ago after I had Jackson. I grew up playing soccer and cheered in high school. My favorite part of both sports(and yes I consider cheer leading a sport) was the conditioning. I found myself running after practice was over on my own. That's when I realized that running may be the sport I really loved.

  1. I hope to get some sun on Sunday! Have a fantastic weekend πŸ™‚

Oh man sunburns are the worst! I hope yours turn right into a tan like mine normally do!

  3. Love your hair!! So sorry you got burnt 😦 I’m hoping to get some sun tomorrow because today is my friend’s graduation and I’m going to support her!!

  4. I’m the opposite, I tend to wear less layers on the bottom and then add a long sleeve if I think my core will be chilly (with a tank underneath if I need to take the long sleeve off once I warm up).

I thought my friday was going to be boring, but I was able to get in to a yoga class (that I was initially wait listed for). Then I stopped in to a going away party for a former co-worker, and then I got home and was invited to a local coffee shop to listen to music. I was very surprised by my busy night but it felt great to be out and about!

I hope that sunburn goes away fast!!!

Your hair looks gorgeous! I had a semi chill Friday night – went out for happy hour but then was home early to watch a movie. Perfect combo πŸ™‚

  7. And now I’ve found your blog! Hooray for blonde-haired blue-eyed runners haha! I understand the whole “getting burned in one second thing”… except mine doesn’t normally turn into a tan 😦

  9. SUNSCREEN!!!!
    Your hair is gorgeous!!
I would rather be a little colder than too warm if it’s a long run. If it’s a short run, I’m ok being a little warm.
