Workout
Monday- 6 miles with Heather + Shoulder workout
I’m not sure a Monday could get any better than the Monday I had yesterday. I know Mondays are usually awful for the rest of the world, but for this stay at home mom it’s the best! I love getting back into routine and I really love the flexibility of my job;)
Yesterday I woke up early and headed out for a wonderful run with Heather. Seriously, all of my running buddy dreams have come true. We literally live a couple houses down from each other, enjoy getting our runs done in the morning, and her strength is speed! She is going to teach me how to be faster and I’m going to help her run longer distances. Match made in running heaven!
When I got home I was just in time. J had just woke up and was ready for bath time! Although he looks adorable, I’m not quite sure why I bathed him since we were going to the pool in a few hours.
Yup, the pool! It’s that time of year and I already told my friends if they need to find me, I’ll be in this spot for the rest of forever!
This is it
I remember when J was born I struggled with finding my new routine. It was a shock for me to know that I wouldn’t be able to do what I used to when I wanted to. Luckily, I was able to adjust, move on, and now my new norm works for me and J. Although I had found a new routine, I still longed to be able to workout at a decent hour, but still have it be ‘my time’.
I’m finally at that place. J sleeps really well and sleeps through the night. By the time I get home from my run at 7:30am he’s just getting up. I’m so grateful for this time in my life and I definitely want to live it up.
I think part of life is finding the good in every stage that you’re in. Finding joy in your journey is so important.
What joy are you finding in your life right now?
Anyone else getting some pool time?
What’s your favorite summer activity?
No pool time for me just yet, the pools all open up here on Memorial Day weekend. The weather actually shifted yesterday and we have unseasonably cold weather. Bah humbug! Oh well it’s sunny and normal May will return by Thursday 🙂 love your swimsuit!
Most of our pools open on Memorial day weekend too. I wish they’d open sooner! I’m sorry about the cold weather, I hope it clears up!!!
I’m finding joy in being single and living for myself because even though my heart was broken BIG time in September, it opened up an entirely new world and I’m loving every minute. I’m not doing anything crazy, but it’s fun to be able to go on weekend trips or stay out late and not have to worry about making sure another person feels included. I’m getting pool and beach time and I love it 😀 That’s my favorite part of summer!
Awe Rachel, I’m so sorry you went through such a hard break up. Those are never fun and always take awhile to find your new norm. I’m glad you’re finding ways to keep busy and to find the positive in being single right now. I hope you have a wonderful day!!
I’m enjoying being a new home owner. There’s so much to do, but I take pride in my home, so it’s worth it. No pool time here! It was literally 35 degrees this morning! Luckily it’s going to warm up again. I love cookouts, and playing yard games!
Oh that is so fun Ashley! There’s so many new things you realize you have to do like own a lawn mower and radon things like that haha I hope it warms up for you guys soon! I love yard games too!
I cannot wait to take Levi to the pool this summer!!! And I am still somewhat figuring out our schedule but I think we are finally getting there! It’s definitely an adjustment having a baby! And I wish I could be your running buddy!!!
I’m glad you guys are finding a schedule that works for the both of you. You’ll have to post pics of the first pool day! I wish you could run with me too!!
Running buddies are the best! Joe and I run together when we can, but I’m usually solo during the week.
I could really go for some pool time right now. It has been crazy hot in Denver the last 2 days. Today I am going to bake while I take 61 first graders to the zoo! 😉
That’s so fun that you and Joe run together, I’m always jealous of that! Oh my gosh, that sounds wild!!! Good luck to your day at the zoo!
I love this post for so many reasons…. Yay for finding a running buddy to help with your speed! I wish I had one of those. 🙂 I’m with you on the speed, I would love to get better at it! Ah! After seeing you at the pool on Instagram I was filled with excitement and jealousy, ha! I can’t wait til I have those days…. Soon enough!!! That’s wonderful that you’ve found the perfect schedule and routine. 🙂 That’s the best ever!
I hope you get to have a pool day very soon! Summer is coming soon enough and I can’t wait to see everyone elses fun pool pictures and yummy foods haha
i want your weather! it all of a sudden got super cold here. lame. I think running with a friend in the am is the best way to start your day
Oh no! I’m so sorry it’s cold there, I hope I can send our Sun your way!! I totally agree, I don’t know why I didn’t have a running buddy in my college years. Would’ve changed my life!
I love that! Finding joy in your journey. Oh and enjoy that flexibility in your schedule!
I will definitely enjoy the flexibility while I can. I know a lot changes with a second baby or even just as life changes.
Hooray! I LOVE having a routine. I’m such a homebody and really thrive when my days are predictable. Otherwise, I get really anxious and worried.
Looks like a really fun day 😀
I am totally the same way. I love having my planner and knowing what I’m doing each day. I need to be better about things that come up, but I’m trying! I’m glad there’s others like me=)
I’m enjoying trying new foods, learning new things and getting fit in a wholistic way, not just by doing one type of exercise. I feel strong and proud! I will definitely be getting some pool time in this weekend and I’m very excited about it!
I think that’s so great! I love that you feel strong and proud, that’s a good feeling. Ahh, so excited you get to go the pool, so fun!
