Sunday Nights + Goals

After church yesterday we tried to play some games. When it was just the hubs and I we used to  play card games and whatever other board games that we found fun. Last night we attempted the game Blokus, but it didn’t last long. This chubby hand guy took over.


The rest of the night we were entertained by J dancing and playing with my sunglasses. He’s a hoot. (And too fast for my camera taking skills.)

Last Weeks Goals

1. Run a longish run, 8-10 miles. Fail. I had planned to run one on Saturday but forgot I’d be in Park City. Time with family>long run, every time.

2. Drink more water. Yes, I finally did it. I just started taking my water bottle everywhere with me like you guys suggested. I also would fill it up as soon as I emptied it, no hesitation or excuses. Thanks for the encouragement!

3. Take advantage of the nice weather. We practically lived at the pool this week and the park. We loved it and are really hoping to do it all over again=)


Goals 5/19-26

1. Get mileage back up (25-30 miles) after the nice easy week of running last week.

2. Visit my sisters. I haven’t visited them in at least a week so it’s overdo;)

3. Amp up my lunches, make them a bit more healthy instead of random snacks.

Welcome to the Sugar Plum Runner! I grew up in WA state, but currently reside in UT with my husband Josh, son Jackson, and 2 daughters Lily and Claire. I love running, but I have never been so inspired to run, race, and blog about it since 4 years ago after I had Jackson. I grew up playing soccer and cheered in high school. My favorite part of both sports(and yes I consider cheer leading a sport) was the conditioning. I found myself running after practice was over on my own. That's when I realized that running may be the sport I really loved.

    Yayyy for drinking water 🙂 Amping up lunches is something I’m working on too. It’s tough to change that whole mindset but I know you can do it!

  2. My goals are to do more strength, starting this week. I’m hoping to go to my first weight lifting class tonight! I also want to get my mileage back up. It was incredibly humid this morning so I only did 3 miles this morning. I’m hoping to do another one or two miles tonight on the treadmill before my weight lifting class!

    Our Sunday nights are usually just a good dinner and lounging around on the couches watching tv/computer! Good job on drinking more water!

  4. My main goal this week is to make it to a couple spin classes and do some strength training. I like to spend my Sunday evenings relaxing on the couch and preparing for the work week. I love that picture of J with his hat on! So cute!

    That’s a good method to drinking more water, filling it right back up immediately. Good idea, I’m definitely doing that today because my hydration skills aren’t the best. Jealous of your park and pool filled week last week, of course, and am loving all the pictures of your son. He’s absolutely precious. Yay for mileage increases, I need to work on that. Happy Monday beautiful!

  9. I have probably said this before, but I love when people post about their goals! It’s so fun to put something out there and aim to achieve it.

    Yay for water! One trick that I really like is to put 8 rubber bands around my bottle. Each time I finish drinking it, I take one off. They had better be all gone by the end of the day 🙂
