Weekend Getaway: Park City

Workout

Saturday- 3 miles, 8:39 pace on hotel treadmill

Josh surprised me awhile ago with a weekend getaway up to Park City for this weekend. He had a wedding up there, so we decided to take the opportunity to get away just the 2 of us. We left J with his grandparents and he waved us goodbye and never noticed we were gone. Seriously, such a blessing to have family so close!

We started our weekend at the Blue Iguana restaurant on Main in Park City. Josh surprised me and cleared the whole place just for us. I guess 5pm is a little too early for dinner? Our food was so good. My shredded pork tacos tasted like candy. Yes, please.

The rest of the night I went with Josh while he was the DJ for a wedding. It was so nice to get home late and then sleep in till 8am!! So rejuvenating=)

I headed to the hotel gym and got a quick 3 miles in to make my weekly mileage 30. I felt so fast this morning. My neighbor who ran on my treadmill last week mentioned that my treadmill was great on her knees but felt like it was a lot harder to workout on. She may be right, I felt so fast on this treadmill!

Then I met Josh in the pool where we did laps raced, and relaxed in the sauna.

It was such a wonderful weekend, thanks again Grandma and Grandpa! J had a blast and didn’t even want to come home with us ha

What’s your favorite Mexican restaurant? What do you order?

Tell me how your race or run went this weekend?!

About Sugar Plum Runner

Welcome to the Sugar Plum Runner! I grew up in WA state, but currently reside in UT with my husband Josh, son Jackson, and 2 daughters Lily and Claire. I love running, but I have never been so inspired to run, race, and blog about it since 4 years ago after I had Jackson. I grew up playing soccer and cheered in high school. My favorite part of both sports(and yes I consider cheer leading a sport) was the conditioning. I found myself running after practice was over on my own. That's when I realized that running may be the sport I really loved.

  1. How fun! So glad you got to have a weekend away! My favorite Mexican Restaurant is a place called Mario’s in Blue Island, a suburb of Chicago. It is amazing and authentic. So delicious.

We have a Mexican Restaurant here called Azul Tequela and it is soooo good! I always just get their cheese dip for my meal and eat all of it with tortilla chips lol They also have the best margaritas! Glad you had a great time with your hubby (:

  3. Oh what a fun getaway!! And my precious one doesn’t ever want to come home from Papa and Gamma’s house either 🙂
