I Broke a Cardinal Rule

Workout

Wednesday- 6 miles, 9:09 pace on the treadmill

I really wanted to get 7 miles in because the last 2 days I’ve been slacking. But, I also really needed to clean my bathrooms. It’s a necessary evil. I also wanted to run forever since it was National Running day yesterday! How did you spend the day dedicated to running??

Blurry treadmill pick so you know that in fact I did run on it.

After cleaning bathrooms we headed to the park to meet up with friends. It is seriously so beautiful out. J had fun showing off the dinosaur bones he discovered. Oops, she doesn’t care Ross J. (Friends fans?)

I broke the cardinal rule of not grocery shopping while your hungry. I went very hungry after the park and all I wanted was, well, everything. Here’s what I was craving bought.

Pickle spears, cuz you never know when you’ll need them! Actually I ate quite a few the minute I got home. I crave salt after a run and these were oh so good.

Birthday cake Oreos. They sounded so good and I was hoping they would taste magically like cake batter froyo. Unfortunately, they taste nothing like them but I’m sure I’ll still eat them.

Mangoes. I’ve actually been craving them for awhile now. I ate one along with my pickle spears upon entering my house. Lunch(and hair) of champions. =)

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Friday eve!

What do you crave when you’re hungry?

Anyone Birthday cake oreo fans? double stuffed? original?

About Sugar Plum Runner

Welcome to the Sugar Plum Runner! I grew up in WA state, but currently reside in UT with my husband Josh, son Jackson, and 2 daughters Lily and Claire. I love running, but I have never been so inspired to run, race, and blog about it since 4 years ago after I had Jackson. I grew up playing soccer and cheered in high school. My favorite part of both sports(and yes I consider cheer leading a sport) was the conditioning. I found myself running after practice was over on my own. That's when I realized that running may be the sport I really loved.

  1. I do love those birthday cake oreos, but I haven’t had them in about a year! Maybe once I’m back in Canada (tomorrow!!) I’ll have to change that 🙂 I spent national running day in the library hahah

  2. I mostly crave anything salty. The other day while grocery shopping I started to think that pickles sounded yummy and then couldn’t get the thought out of my head. That food is serious trouble.

PICKLES!!!!! You know I love that 🙂 I have 3 large jars in my fridge right now. haha- obsession? yes. I’ve never had a birthday oreo, but you should definitely eat a couple for me tomorrow (it’s my b-day 🙂 )

  4. Pickles are my favorite food 😀 That other day I seriously debated eating a pickle sandwich…. That’s how much I love them 😉 I don’t really eat Oreos that often, but I love Double Stuft or Halloween flavor :)!

Good job on 6 miles! I, too, feel like I’m slacking distance wise. Maybe I can throw in a longer ish run tonight? 🙂 YOU motivate me too, woman! Pickles are so good, and I crave nothing but salt after a long run too! I love having that as an excuse. Those oreos are good, but I prefer triple quadruple stuffed oreos. Extra fat, please. 🙂

  7. OMG Birthday cake Oreo’s…I need to hunt these down.
    I love fresh fruit!!!

  8. Oh a Friends reference!!! I LOVE my Friends and can quote just about every episode…I know I’m a dork.

Great job on the run and the park looks like fun!!

  9. I have not tried the birthday cake Oreos, but I have heard from several people that they are not as good as they sound. I guess I will just save my money and only try them if someone else already has some! 😉

  10. Pickles are my fave, specifically Claussen! They’re the ultimate crispy pickle. I usually crave garlic stuff olive post-workout. But let’s be real, I usually crave garlic stuff olives all.the.time.

  11. I see nothing wrong with some delicious mangos. but yes, that cardinal rule can be dangerous…

i crave bananas and trail mix. pretty much all the time.

  13. I am proud to say that I caught the Friends reference before I read your hint!! 🙂
Shopping while I’m hungry is not a good idea. Sometimes I’ll get a coffee at the Starbucks in Safeway and that helps hold me over…
