Weekly Goals

Sunday is always bitter sweet. It’s the day I get to go to church with my family and have my spiritual cup filled, and then I usually get to spend the rest of the day with family. But as the night goes on, I know it’s the start of another week and my husband will be off at work during the day. I love having that extra time with him and J loves it too!

Yesterday was no different, except we got to go to dinner at a friends house. She was really brave and invited 4 other families over that all had kids(they don’t have kids yet) and her house was not child proof. Luckily nothing broke and the food was great! No pics because I was too busy stuffing my face. I did manage to get a pic with J and all his girlfriends and all the ladies at the party=)

1. Keep mileage up to 30 miles-I squeaked by with exactly 30 miles

2. Do Front yard work. Yes! I got outside and finally did it=)

3. Do upper body work-fail, did maybe 1 workout.

4. Finish book for book club. I finished enough of it, I’m having a hard time getting into it. Anyone ever read ‘A Thousand Gifts’?

New Goals

1. Do upper body work, for reals

2. Mop my kitchen floor, I’ve been putting it off for a week, it needs to be done!

3. Bump up my mileage to 31 miles? Kind of nervous, I know it’s only 1 more mile but still…

Who’s working on increasing mileage? How’s it going?

How was your weekend? Crazy? Relaxing?

About Sugar Plum Runner

Welcome to the Sugar Plum Runner! I grew up in WA state, but currently reside in UT with my husband Josh, son Jackson, and 2 daughters Lily and Claire. I love running, but I have never been so inspired to run, race, and blog about it since 4 years ago after I had Jackson. I grew up playing soccer and cheered in high school. My favorite part of both sports(and yes I consider cheer leading a sport) was the conditioning. I found myself running after practice was over on my own. That's when I realized that running may be the sport I really loved.

  1. I love that you have such an amazing Sunday like that, it is honestly why I want to live closer to family when I am older.

  2. How fun! She really is brave – I get so nervous when there are kids in my apartment. Too many sharp things!

You did a great job with your goals this week! It’s so funny, upper-body strengthening is my FAVORITE, but the idea of running 30 miles in a week sounds awful to me. Maybe we could switch places for a week? 😉

  3. J looks so bashful in that second picture with all his lady friends 😉 I worked on bumping up my mileage back to where it was before…and I did better, but I still have a lot of room for improvement. I didn’t get a long run in last week because of Tropical Storm Andrea, but this week will hopefully be a different story!

    • Hey at least your improving, keep it up girl! Yes, I hope you have great weather and no more tropical storms! You need to get a long run so you can properly test your new socks lol I’m loving the yellow on you and I kinda wanna order a yellow pair now.

I know how you feel about Sunday’s – girl, totally bittersweet. Glad you got to go to dinner with friends though! That’s a great way to wrap things up on the weekends. You girls are all so adorable, and so is J! Good job with your weekly mileage, I need to get mine back up there too! My weekend was very relaxing and great, just what I wanted/needed.

  5. You are rocking your weekly mileage! I love how consistent and goal driven you are 🙂 Looks like you guys had an amazing time with the kiddos! Hope you have a wonderful week and keep crushing those runs!

  6. Your little J with all those ladies, oh me!! He’s gonna be a little heart-breaker, isn’t he?! I haven’t read A Thousand Gifts but one of my friends did and she had a hard time with it in the beginning and had a hard time dealing with some of the subject matter but she did finish it and is really glad she read it. Good job on your 30 miles!!

  7. I’m increasing my mileage this week!!!! I think I’m going to start with a .25 mile run. I know it’s nothing, but I’m nervous! J is such a ladies’ man! My weekend was both a little busy and relaxing. I did tried a couple new recipes that I will post about tomorrow, including a recipe for chocolate chip cookie dough larabars!

I feel ya on Sundays being bittersweet! Around 6 or 7 I start thinking about the upcoming week and Stu being gone every day :/

I hear ya on the Sunday thing. I hated them during the school year knowing the weekend was ending and I would have to work the next morning. Even though I’m not working now, it’s still a bummer because I know Joe has to go to work and I barely see him during the week (he works long days)…the good news is…another weekend isn’t too far away 🙂

  10. I love Sundays ♥ This weekend was pretty crazy – I was busy moving! But it wasn’t *all* work though.. I got to squeeze a bachlorette party in on saturday 🙂

  11. Having to say no to running for a while since I am in my first trimester of pregnancy. Hoping to log some walking miles during the next trimester if I am feeling up for it.
