Monday- 5 miles, 10:14 pace with Heather

Yes, that is the slowest run Heather and I have ever been on together. Sheesh, we were slow, but we kept chuggin a long. Heather is coming back after a week of rest after her half, and I have absolutely no excuse. It’s always good to have runs like these though. Not every run can be sparkles and rainbows. But, I was just slow and out of breath, the end.

photo(622)It was so hot yesterday, but J and I needed to get out of the house. I spent the morning cleaning and then met up with Alisha at the pool again. I love just letting J be outside, get all of his energy out and enjoying the Sun.

photo(623)Our night consisted of really yummy BBQ lettuce wraps, and family night at The Sweet Spot. I think it’s safe to say J liked my grape/lime snow cone best! It was a perfect night.

Oops, sorry I’m a day late but here they are!

last week

1. Run 31 miles. I did it! The most I’ve ever ran in a week, and I’m feeling pretty good, minus the sluggish run yesterday morning.

2. Mop the kitchen floors. Yup, got that done(but it already needs it again ha).

3.ย  Do upper body workouts everyday. I can’t believe I did it, but I did and I hope to keep it up 3x a week. It felt great!

New Goals

1. 8-15 minute abs 4x this week

2. Spring clean our closets of clothes we never wore last Winter.

3. No mileage goals, just have fun with my runs this week with friends=)

Welcome to the Sugar Plum Runner! I grew up in WA state, but currently reside in UT with my husband Josh, son Jackson, and 2 daughters Lily and Claire. I love running, but I have never been so inspired to run, race, and blog about it since 4 years ago after I had Jackson. I grew up playing soccer and cheered in high school. My favorite part of both sports(and yes I consider cheer leading a sport) was the conditioning. I found myself running after practice was over on my own. That's when I realized that running may be the sport I really loved.

    Spring cleaning was the best “excuse” to go clothes shopping — even the fiancรฉ ‘needed’ to go! Great work on the 31 miles!

  2. I clean out my closet a couple times a year, but somehow still have way too many clothes. I’m not sure how that happens, especially since I don’t really buy too many clothes! I am looking forward to a nap today…I’m already needing one and I haven’t even left for work yet. It’s just gonna be one of those days.

    Ugh I’ve been putting off cleaning my closet for weeks. It’s on my to do list this weekend:/ my goal this week is to rest and stretch my shin so I can be back running ASAP!

  5. I clean out my closet every couple months. I don’t know how I still have things to get rid of, but I do. I’m looking forward to a relaxing evening tonight with the possibility of a bike ride. I love the weekly goals, they’re so much more manageable than monthly ones!

    You’re right, hahahah, with humor, not every run is rainbow and sparkles! But, you still did it, and that’s wonderful. Ab work this week! Yay! Maybe I’ll copy you and do the same. Mine are totally lacking. Have a great day lovely!

  9. I thought of you when I was doing my pushups/upper body work after running this morning! ๐Ÿ˜‰ Yes you are right not every run is perfect but good for you for getting out there anyways!

    I don’t remember the last time I had a sno-cone! Sounds delicious since it’s getting super hot in Denver again!
    I clean out my closets constantly- probably too often, because I give things away and then I end up wanting them later! haha

  11. I don’t clean out my closet until I absolutely have to. Meaning, when I move and need to pack. it is the worst. The absolute WORST and I am dreading doing that this summer. My goal is to get my mileage up this week more than last. It’s time to start preparing my body to be training again.. YIKES.
