Swirling and Turtles

Monday- 6 miles, 9:20 pace solo TM run + Nike Training Club-Marathon prep workout

I woke up with my alarm clock at 6:30am yesterday morning. Unfortunately, I didn’t get out of bed, instead I got caught up in Instagram and all your blogs! Before I knew it my husbands alarm went off and J woke up shortly after so I headed down to my treadmill. It was actually a great sweaty workout. Sometimes I just need to push myself like treadmill workouts do for me.

I needed to grab a few things at Walmart to finish organizing J’s clothes. We headed there after his nap and found what we needed and then some. Like these stunna shades=)

For family night I really wanted to go on a bike ride. Sadly, the weather was pretty crummy out, so we headed to froyo! My friends little girl was selling froyo coupons(10, buy 1 get 1 frees!!) It’s my fav place called U Swirl and last night when we arrived it was all made over!

You could actually swirl 2 flavors together, so awesome! I still chose boring cake batter with lots of chocolate toppings with a side of mango. J loved Josh’s way more than mine.

Next we went next door to Petco. J’s favorite was the turtles and fish. Maybe one day we’ll have a fish, that’s prob the only pet I could handle.

I love those dimple hands

Did you have pets growing up? What about now?

Are treadmill workouts harder or easier for you?

About Sugar Plum Runner

Welcome to the Sugar Plum Runner! I grew up in WA state, but currently reside in UT with my husband Josh, son Jackson, and 2 daughters Lily and Claire. I love running, but I have never been so inspired to run, race, and blog about it since 4 years ago after I had Jackson. I grew up playing soccer and cheered in high school. My favorite part of both sports(and yes I consider cheer leading a sport) was the conditioning. I found myself running after practice was over on my own. That's when I realized that running may be the sport I really loved.

Fun evening! I had a turtle growing up, and now my parents still have a rabbit which we had for like 7 years! I am not a fan on the treadmill, but when I need to use it I do! I think it depends on the day if they are hard or not.

  2. Fish are great pets! Betta fish are so much fun! They have such great personalities! I had fish growing up and I have a dachshund that lives at my parents house. Right now I don’t have one because I don’t have the time/money for one, but I hope to get one in the near future!

TM workouts are definitely hard for me all of the time!

    mmmmm fro yo!!
I had dogs, cats, and turtles growing up. Joe and I really want to get a dog now, just waiting for the right timing πŸ™‚

  4. I had a pet turtle when I was young, and countless fish. I eventually convinced my parents to get a dog which we had for about 15 years. Shortly after our first dog died we got Molly. Obviously I think she’s pretty awesome. I think pets are a really great way to teach children responsibility when they’re a little bit older.

The treadmill is my nemesis. For some reason I can never go as fast on it as I otherwise would. It’s crazy I feel like I’m pushing so hard, but am going so much slower.

Awesome treadmill run. I still don’t know how you do it – especially for that long run time! Treadmill workouts are SO SO SO hard!!!!!!! I will never choose a treadmill workout unless I am doing interval stuff or an HIIT workout. I just don’t know how to do it on my own outside so I trust the treadmill for that kind of thing!
Cute family night! I would snatch up those fro yo coupons like nobody’s business… Lucky you! I love cake batter with chocolate toppings! That’s my go to flavor of fro yo! Woo! Haha, get a fish for sure. Those things require hardly any care! Growing, up, I had a beta fish and it lived for about 3 years. That infuriated me as a kid, because I wanted it to die so I could have a new one. It lived forever, I tell yah. πŸ™‚

  6. His stunna shades are ADORABLE!

We always had dogs and cats (and turtles) growing up. I can’t imagine my life without my dog, Rocky. I really, truly think he’s my son.

I can definitely run WAY faster on the mill than outside, but I just love running outside way more. if I’m doing a HIIT working I HAVE to do it on the mill.

  7. You look like you all have so many of the same fun things like we do! We go for froyo (and there’s nothing boring about cake batter, it’s delicious!!!!) and then next door is PetSmart so Ryman runs around looking at the fish, turtles, and birds and then we go next door to Books-A-Million because my little man just LOVES books. So much fun!

  8. Oh froyo mixtures are the best! Yum! I sadly never had any pets growing up. One day though, I want to get a dog. My parents never wanted to take care of one. A turtle would make a good pet for sure!

  9. Mmm fro yo. I could go for some right now πŸ™‚

  10. I think treadmill runs are a little easier for me because I get to control the pace and I’m usually entertained with netflix or hulu on my phone πŸ™‚

I only had fish growing up, even though I always wanted a puppy! And now I can’t have one because I’m in a tiny condo with no yard 😦 But as soon as my boyfriend and I are married it’s puppy time!
