Tempo Thursday, or was it Wednesday?

**Thanks so much for all the advice and encouragement yesterday, you guys are the best. I now have a lot more to think about, but that’s a good thing. I’m excited for what’s in store this summer=)

Workout

Wednesday- 6 total, 3 miles with Brittany, 3 on my own + shoulder workout

Yesterday’s run was really hot (like make my face really red), but Brittany and I were both feeling really great. I continued to feel good after so I kept running and wanted to see if I could hold a faster pace for 3 miles. According to Mapmyrun app, my second 3 miles splits were 8:30, 8:05<–feelin really good, 8:30. I’m happy with those results.

We took our lunch to the water park with some friends. J is in love with watermelon. If there’s watermelon on his plate he won’t eat anything else and demand more watermelon.

Last night we tried a new restaurant in our area. It’s called Terriyaki Boys. I’m always on the look out for a good terriyaki place that can bring me back to my hometown of Seattle. This was not the place, but it wasn’t bad for what we paid.

When is your next speed session?

What’s your favorite summer fruit? Yes, fruit popsicles count;)

About Sugar Plum Runner

Welcome to the Sugar Plum Runner! I grew up in WA state, but currently reside in UT with my husband Josh, son Jackson, and 2 daughters Lily and Claire. I love running, but I have never been so inspired to run, race, and blog about it since 4 years ago after I had Jackson. I grew up playing soccer and cheered in high school. My favorite part of both sports(and yes I consider cheer leading a sport) was the conditioning. I found myself running after practice was over on my own. That's when I realized that running may be the sport I really loved.

  1. Awesome work!!! You’re little miss speedy lately! I did a tiny bit of speed on the treadmill today, just a couple of intervals. Normally I hate speed work but I am beginning to see how beneficial it can be for the rest of my running. My favorite summer fruit is a tie between blueberries and raspberries. If something is raspberry flavored, I will eat it. But I cannot pass up some delicious blueberry cobbler or muffins πŸ™‚

  4. My FAVORITE summer fruit is definitely cantaloupe! But then again, I eat it all year round ;).

I got a watermelon yesterday and I think I may already have eaten half! haha.
Nice job on the run- that’s a great pace!!
I have been foam rolling twice a day everyday so far this week…trying to keep things loose for saturday!!

WOOO! Awesome run, girly, x 2!!! You are killing it with that pace! πŸ™‚ YES TO THAT red face! So pretty! Good job foam rolling, I totally love foam rolling after a great run. I MUST stretch no matter what because I really don’t want to ever be seriously injured and stretching is a great way to prevent that.
J is a smart boy when it comes to his watermelon obsession. πŸ™‚ Girly face, I love that you’re from Seattle and I’ll never stop telling you that! πŸ™‚ Good luck finding anything, food wise, that’s as wonderful as Seattle, especially the seafood! Have a great day!

  7. I am hoping that I won’t be too exhausted this evening to get in a little speed work…I think it’s going to depend on the weather really…If it’s not too humid, I think I’ll try to go out and do a longer slower run, but if it’s super humid, I think I’ll do a tempo run on the mill πŸ™‚

    That J is just precious!

  8. Look at you – fast mama!!

I love sushi so much! πŸ™‚ I need to go get some.

  9. Caitlyn says:

watermelon, for the win! J and i agree. πŸ™‚

  10. I have never been to a place that serves things in a bento box like that, super cool

  11. watermelon
    peaches
    raspberries

…I could seriously live on these three things all summer long
