I spy and some weekly goals


Monday- Easy 4 miles on TM

photo(680)*Saturday’s 4 mile run was done in 36 min. Today’s was a recover run, I’m trying a lot harder to make sure my recover runs are actually slower and I don’t worry about time, just about running and enjoying it.


After we got back from Park City we headed to church and then straight to my sister’s house. My nephew turned 12 so we all got together and had some yummy barbecue pizzas. I had basil, tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, pineapple, and lots of olives.


For dessert their was cake, ice cream, and lots of green candies(birthday boy’s fav color). J wasn’t sure how to eat the ice cream so he was just grabbing it with his hands. Of course he had to have his dinosaurs with him.

On to Monday. Lots of chores like laundry, vacuuming, and organizing clutter. Me and J were in the garage cleaning out my car. I spy someone looking at me=) He loves to climb all over the car and watch me vacuum.



Last Week Goals

1. Get a speed run in-I got a couple in and am very happy about some of my 8:xx splits.

2. Stretch/foam roll after every workout-only did after 2/6 workouts-oops

3. Maintain ab/arm workout- check=)

New Goals

1. Eat more clean(i.e. veggies and fruits)

2. Make 4th of July so fun for my boys. One of my fav holidays!

3. Get a longerish run in(8-10 miles)

Welcome to the Sugar Plum Runner! I grew up in WA state, but currently reside in UT with my husband Josh, son Jackson, and 2 daughters Lily and Claire. I love running, but I have never been so inspired to run, race, and blog about it since 4 years ago after I had Jackson. I grew up playing soccer and cheered in high school. My favorite part of both sports(and yes I consider cheer leading a sport) was the conditioning. I found myself running after practice was over on my own. That's when I realized that running may be the sport I really loved.

  1. My favorite holiday is definitely Christmas. I love how all the family gets together, theres tons of good food and drink, and no one is immune to the jolly atmosphere and mood. But I have such fond memories of July 4th from when I was a little kid. Hope you have a great holiday with your family!

  2. I really like St. Patrick’s Day! But of course, I love Halloween and Christmas, too. My goal for July is to try something new every week! Definitely going to be fun!

  3. the fourth is such a family tradition type holiday, sad the last two years i haven’t been able to be with my family but there will be other years! have a blast

  4. I really like all holidays. Christmas obviously brings the most excitement, but is also really depressing once it’s over. 4th of July is great because it’s really the onset of summer. My goal this month is to focus on just getting workouts in regardless of what they actually are. That picture of J eating with his dinosaurs is officially his cutest picture yet!

  5. I love your weekly goals, because they usually prompt me to sit down and think what types of fitness goals I want to make for my week!

    My favorite holiday is 4th of July! I love summer, being by the water, patriotism, fireworks, hot dogs, everything about it! 🙂 But Christmas is definitely a close second.

    You should share one of your typical ab workouts! I neglect my core SO terribly and I really need to pull it together and work on it.

    Recovery runs are so much fun! 🙂 I love just relaxing and not worrying about pace. It’s sometimes very much needed. That pizza looks divine! I had been craving pizza all weekend and finally had some last night.. YumE!
    Your goals are wonderful! I can’t wait to hear about your long run! Yay for the fourth! It’s a much needed holiday from work, for sure.

  7. Recovery runs are so important! I try to throw them in during the week along w/ my longer weekend run. There’s nothing more satisfying than a speed workout though! Sounds like you’re doing awesome at maintaining that balance!

    I’m liking how you have weekly goals. I could imagine it’s much easier to keep sight of them that way.. I may have to incorporate this into my routines.

    Great job on your goals this week! I know you sorta struggled with the ab/arm workout at first, so major props for killing that one 😀
