Wknd Recap + Goals

Sunday was the usual, go to church, be lazy and eat lots of food day. I thought it was great, J however, did not.

But let’s back up, Friday I headed up North to spend the day with my sisters, nieces, and nephews. My sister’s neighborhood has a pool. The girls had fun sitting on the side eating yummy food, and the kids had a blast swimming.

That night the hubs, J and I headed out to do errands. We got caught in a huge rain storm. J has never been outside in the rain so we let him run around in it for a bit.

We went to Zuppas for dinner, one of my favorite cafe style restaurants. I ordered the California Turkey sandwich with the Tortilla Soup. Both were winners in my book.

We found ourselves at Costco. And somehow my fav running socks got into the cart. . .

Saturday was full of more errands and a stop at Ross. I a cute sports bra for $8, great deal!

Last Week Goals

1. One longish run(8-10 miles)- Ha, my long run this week was 5 miles and I’m totally fun with it.

2. Eat clean-nope, not really, so I’ll add it to the list again.

3. Make the 4th of July special for my boys-We had a blast!

New Goals

1. Eat cleaner, meaning less processed foods and more meaningful foods instead of ’empty calories’.

2. Run at least 4x this week(I’m going away this week, more info later)

3. Less TV watching, more reading my book.

Welcome to the Sugar Plum Runner! I grew up in WA state, but currently reside in UT with my husband Josh, son Jackson, and 2 daughters Lily and Claire. I love running, but I have never been so inspired to run, race, and blog about it since 4 years ago after I had Jackson. I grew up playing soccer and cheered in high school. My favorite part of both sports(and yes I consider cheer leading a sport) was the conditioning. I found myself running after practice was over on my own. That's when I realized that running may be the sport I really loved.

  2. Aw, little kids are so cute in the rain. It’s like nothing in the world could be better than splashing in a puddle. Love seeing the world through their eyes. I think the last great deal I found was some cute yoga tops at Target–they look like lululemon, are just as functional, but are maybe 1/3 of the price. Finding something you love for almost no money is always a great feeling. Good luck with this week’s goals!

    Looks like a good sunday. Joe and I are always away on the weekends, so all the errand running tends to fall on me during the week (especially over the summer as I’m off work)…I’m ok with it and kinda like feeling productive.
    Marathon training starts this week, so I am looking forward to getting back into a normal running routine…the last week has been a break from training and I am totally feeling sluggish!

  5. Looks like a great weekend! Did J like the rain? Rylnn LOVES it when we let him run around in the sprinkles, especially if there’s puddles that he can splash in!

    My goals this week are to run at least 4 days and eat more protein! I’m going to set a goal of 50g of protein per day because I know I am not getting nearly enough 🙂

  6. Love hearing about how nice your weekend was! I’m looking forward to a long hike with my man sometime this week and getting back into the groove of post-4th of July eating (my hands still smell like heavenly ribs!) and taking some classes at the gym 🙂
