Florida Day 1, 2 and 3

Hi Friends! I’ve missed reading your blogs and I’m trying to catch up. I had a great time away from blogging for the week, but I’m back! I hope you’re all having a great weekend!

Workout

(last)Friday- Ran 5 miles outside with Vanessa + arms + 8 min abs

Last Friday was such a great run with my friend Vanessa. She is training for her first 10k and Friday called for a 4.5 mile run(we did .5 cool down). She rocked it! Oh, did I mention she’s pregnant? So proud of her=)

(last) Saturday in hotel gym in FL- 10 min arms + 6 min abs + 10 min elliptical

Saturday Josh, J, my MIL, SIL, and FIL and I all flew to Orlando, Florida. That night after settling into our hotel, my MIL, SIL and I headed to the small gym to get a good workout in. Someone was on the treadmill so I tried the elliptical… I’m not a fan ha

Sunday- rest

Monday- 2.5 miles around hotel parking lot

Holy humid! It felt really good running the one morning I was able to. Running at sea level feels great for the lungs, but the humidity is crazy! I’ve never had beads of sweat on my legs and after only 2.5 miles at 7am I was covered! I love how green it is, reminds me of Seattle. I give total credit to all runners who run in the humidity, or walk, or live. . .

Florida Day 2

We started the day off at church and then changed our clothes and headed to Shark Tooth Beach. I don’t think that’s the real name, but it’s a beach full of shells and shark teeth! One of the locals told us that because of the currents lots of shark teeth end up there. We brought some hotel strainers and spoons and started looking. Everyone was successful but me haha It was harder than I thought, and I was chasing J=)

My MIL got really into finding shark teeth and sacrificed her clothes haha

Florida Day 3

Monday we headed to Magic Kingdom in Disney World. It was so crowded and probably the hottest day we were there. That didn’t stop us from having the best time. I love going on rides and it worked out perfect trading J off with my in laws for the bigger rides.

About Sugar Plum Runner

Welcome to the Sugar Plum Runner! I grew up in WA state, but currently reside in UT with my husband Josh, son Jackson, and 2 daughters Lily and Claire. I love running, but I have never been so inspired to run, race, and blog about it since 4 years ago after I had Jackson. I grew up playing soccer and cheered in high school. My favorite part of both sports(and yes I consider cheer leading a sport) was the conditioning. I found myself running after practice was over on my own. That's when I realized that running may be the sport I really loved.

  1. Shar, that looks like such a fun time! I loved keeping up with your instagram pictures!!

  2. I’ve been to Florida and Disney World. I think we need to take the kids to Disneyland sometime soon since we’re so close.
Your pictures are so good. 🙂 I love that you had a great week of family time!
Humidity is awful. Thank goodness I didn’t start running until I moved to Flagstaff!

So cute! I’m not a fan of the elliptical either girl… so annoying to me, though it is supposedly good cross training. FL weather is insane, I couldn’t agree more!!! Good for you for getting out and running still! 🙂
