I’m Really Jealous of my 2 year old

Wednesday- 3.6 miles on the stationary bike + 8 min abs + 3 x 25 squats

My leg really flared up on the bike this morning. It’s never hurt on the bike before so that made me concerned and I stopped short. I wasn’t able to get x rays yesterday because I found out they will be $300 since we haven’t met our deductible(otherwise they are 100% covered). I’m chatting with the doc to see what other options may be, have I mentioned I really hate being injured?

On a happier note, I’m starting see a lot of the positive changes in my body for doing more strength training/core work. I’m really loving those exercises and totally give credit to my injury for making me incorporate them more into my routine.

I’m just reminiscing a bit from when my mom was in town last week. We went swimming(surprise to know one) and had a great time with Grandma Coco. (her name is Colleen and her family calls her Co, the grand kids call her Coco lol)

Yesterday I needed to get a lot of cleaning done. I had put it off for most of the week, so after I fed J breakfast and gave him a bath I strapped him in his seat and let him paint away. i just printed off some of his favorite things from the internet. He loved it and I loved being able to clean the bathrooms without my ‘helper'(bleach + children = never good).

Later we hung out with some of my best friends. I left feeling inspired to do more and that’s always a good feeling.

And then I became really jealous. If I could have a motorized scooter to drive around the house I might be more efficient at cleaning. I may need to look into an early retirement present, a hoover round…

Anyone have any awesome craft ideas they wanna share?

Hitting any workout milestones?

About Sugar Plum Runner

Welcome to the Sugar Plum Runner! I grew up in WA state, but currently reside in UT with my husband Josh, son Jackson, and 2 daughters Lily and Claire. I love running, but I have never been so inspired to run, race, and blog about it since 4 years ago after I had Jackson. I grew up playing soccer and cheered in high school. My favorite part of both sports(and yes I consider cheer leading a sport) was the conditioning. I found myself running after practice was over on my own. That's when I realized that running may be the sport I really loved.

  1. CoCo is such a cute nickname for Colleen! My best friend’s name is Colleen and we just call her Coll or EenColl (Don’t ask..we’re weird). Bubble paint is fun (If J doesn’t drink it) http://tinkerlab.com/bubble-paint-recipe/ Basically, you just put a piece of paper, pillowcase, poster board, or something down, put a straw in the bubbles, blow bubbles and use your or J’s hands to spread the bubbles around! It’s SO fun!

I’m moving up in weights in my strength class 😀 That’s super exciting for me!

Haha the title of this post is awesome! Sorry your computer is still giving you problems and SORRY your injury is still not getting much better. That’s totally cool that you’re still working out in other ways – I would be so discouraged but you’re right – it’s absolutely a wonderful opportunity to try new things! 🙂
I avoid medical things like the plague because I refuse to pay my deductible.. LOL!

I actually did a strength workout today. That may not be a milestone but it is a miracle for me right now. If only I could actually keep it up. I sure am going to try!

  4. The painting looks so fun!! Hang in there girlie and I hope the doc gives you some options!!

I’m still right there with ya on the injury 😦 I got my X-rays yesterday, but they only sent a couple to my doc, so gotta call back tomorrow. Hang in there!
