Soaking up the last days of summer


Friday- 7.23 miles on the stationary bike + 8 min abs + shoulder ripper NTC

Saturday- Moving boxes =)

Yesterday’s shoulder workout was touch. I forced myself to use 8 lb weights the whole workout. I did 3 sets of the below exercises. If your new to reading, welcome, and a lot of my workouts are from the Nike Training Club app, it’s free!



We’re attempting to soak up any of the last rays of sunshine. Yesterday we headed to the park even though it was over cast and a bit stormy out. We had a good hour outside playing with a Ninja Turtle kite he got for his birthday. He thought it was fun until the string got wrapped around his legs.

He also had fun dancing with Milla. He does this thing where he puffs his chest up and struts around, yep, he’s a boy alright.


Then we attempted to take 3, 2 year olds to lunch. They were great entertainment for us, not so sure about the other guests. Either way it was just what I needed, a little girl time to chat and eat yummy food.


Josh and I went to a wedding together(he was the DJ) and J got babysat by Aunty Leeshy. It was a great night together. As you read this I’m on my way to Idaho to help my lil sis move down here to UT. I’m so excited, I had a hard time sleeping last night!

Welcome to the Sugar Plum Runner! I grew up in WA state, but currently reside in UT with my husband Josh, son Jackson, and 2 daughters Lily and Claire. I love running, but I have never been so inspired to run, race, and blog about it since 4 years ago after I had Jackson. I grew up playing soccer and cheered in high school. My favorite part of both sports(and yes I consider cheer leading a sport) was the conditioning. I found myself running after practice was over on my own. That's when I realized that running may be the sport I really loved.

  2. I would definitely take a cookie, as long as it’s not chocolate chip. I am not a huge chocolate person, but I love me some sugar, snickerdoodle, and peanut butter cookies!

    I haven’t flied a kite in ages, but I remember that I absolutely loved it!

  3. I have only ever flown a kite once or twice… but I grew up in the Windy City, so yeah, it’s windy here!

    Brownie right now 😀 One thats soft, fudgey, and chewy!

  4. That Nike Training Club app is no joke! 8 lbs is great for that workout, it’s ridiculously tough!

    I’m definitely more of a brownie girl. Mhm!

  5. I’ve just started using the Nike Training Club app – it’s great! I especially like the Kara Goucher running stretches, when it is timed and telling me what I have to do I’m far more likely to stretch!

    A cookie would win every time especially chocolate chip!! I’m so sorry about your bum leg! I’ve been updating myself on all your posts I have been missing and having an injury is SO frustrating!! You just get sad and jealous when you see other runners. I hope you get it all worked out. I’m going to have to look into that SLC Halloween half!
