weekly goals, I’ve been slacking

This weekend has been a lot of fun. Friday night I went with the hubs to a wedding he was the DJ for. He was doing a lot of this(it was sprinkling so he’s under a cover)

J was with aunty Leeshy, he always gets spoiled with lots of treats=)

Saturday I got up bright and early, nope not for a race. The only other thing that would get me out of bed at 4:30am, family! My sister Neeley, her husband, and I all headed up to Idaho to help my little sister and her husband and brand new baby move.

It went by quick, and soon we were on the road headed to my nephews birthday. My BIL made a giant slip n’ slide for the party. J only wanted to play with the bubbles at the end of it. (the bday boy, on the left loved the slide!)

Sunday we went to church. J insists on carrying his ‘pack pack’ but won’t wear it on his back. He drags it all the way in. . .


The rest of the night consisted of grilled pizzas, cookies, and pajamas=)

New Goals(I’m not even recapping old goals cuz they’re a couple weeks old, so behind!)

1. Get 7-8 hours of sleep every night

2. Just because I’m not running doesn’t mean I can slack on my workouts. make them more intense, more sweat, more hardcore.

3. Find my passion again. Not running blows. It’s been a roller coaster of emotions over here, and I need to just get over it and find a passion for my workouts.

Welcome to the Sugar Plum Runner! I grew up in WA state, but currently reside in UT with my husband Josh, son Jackson, and 2 daughters Lily and Claire. I love running, but I have never been so inspired to run, race, and blog about it since 4 years ago after I had Jackson. I grew up playing soccer and cheered in high school. My favorite part of both sports(and yes I consider cheer leading a sport) was the conditioning. I found myself running after practice was over on my own. That's when I realized that running may be the sport I really loved.

  1. My main goal this week is to get all my workouts in- no excuses! Sleep goes hand in hand with this because sometimes I wake up and am just too tired to move. So better sleep is on the agenda this week too!

    Haha chocolate cake FTW! šŸ™‚ You and your sister have such beautifully unique names, I love the name Neeley and, of course, Sharsti! šŸ™‚ Awesome! Water slides are SO nostalgic, I miss them so much!
    I know how you feel with the not running thing… It’s definitely an addictive sport and taking time away from it is super difficult. I used my time off from running to slack quite a bit but I came back to running with a vengeance. I wouldn’t stress too hard over your slacking, of course, don’t fall off the wagon, but don’t stress about it either. It will all come back in good time, and until then, keep on rocking out your other workouts! Try some P90X or something like that in the mean time, if you can! šŸ™‚

  4. J is so cute w his ‘pack pack’! He needs a little bag w/ wheels on it so he can roll it around. Not sure if they make those that small though šŸ™‚ Hang in there w the recovery…let cross training be your best friend! You will be so thankful when you are back to running strong.

  5. I went home for a bridal shower this weekend and ate a TON of dessert. My goal this week is to meet (or exceed) all of my workouts for the week. I met all my goals last week and I feel good about them šŸ™‚

    I’m in grad school and we’ve only been in school a week and so far, so good! šŸ˜€

  7. I hear you on the not running thing…injuries SUCK. It is so frustrating and disheartening! šŸ˜¦

  8. I love that J calls it a “pack pack” because that’s what my Rylnn calls his too and he INSISTS on carrying/dragging it himself most of the time as well šŸ™‚

    J is so cute! I want to see what was in his cute back pack! That is where I would be hiding treats for myself to get me through church haha. You are so good to keep pushing through your workouts even though you can’t run. It is so not the same as running huh:( Don’t worry, you will get there. Spin classes have been my go-to when I couldn’t run.

    • He puts a lot of books in there for during church. He loves to color too so there’s coloring crayons.
      and yes, I do pack ‘extra’ snacks for when he goes to nursery and I can conveniently eat them haha you already know me so well haha
