Biking with a twist(or child)

Tuesday- 1.5 mile bike + .5 mile jog + dancing

It was a weird morning where I didn’t feel like working out much. I started on the bike, got bored, tried jogging just to see if my leg would hurt(ya I like to live on the wild side) and it didn’t hurt much but I didn’t want to push it. Then I ended up dancing with little J(not so little anymore=( )

Sometimes it’s nice to just dance it out, come one I know you do to;)

Before we get into today’s rambles, can I just stop for a sec and show you what we ended up getting at Ikea? We have a toy room that looks like a pack of wild wolves destroyed it, aka children. I just left it crazy because I had no storage for it and knew it would happen all over again after I spent too much time trying to organize it.

Feast your eyes on this beauty(I feel proud because me and my SIL put it together with NO instructions, yup none and Ikea is confusing with instructions).

I call it, organized chaos

I call it, organized chaos

Now I just shove all the toys into the bins and the bigger toys onto the shelves. Easy peasy.

Okay now onto real life stuff, like how J painted all over himself while I was catching up on your blogs. Fail.

Oh and how when I’m biking J now wants to ‘ride mommy, my turn’ with me haha

he's also wearing one of my medals

he also enjoys sporting my medals

After all my shenanigans, I ended the night with my boys at one of our fav Thai restaurants where I always get the masaman curry, mmmm.

And mango sticky rice for dessert…it’s so dang good. Josh and I agree we would choose it over cake. Minus that maraschino cherry, hate those little suckers.

Are you a maraschino fan?

What kind of workout are you doing today? Do you ever dance at your house for a workout?

About Sugar Plum Runner

Welcome to the Sugar Plum Runner! I grew up in WA state, but currently reside in UT with my husband Josh, son Jackson, and 2 daughters Lily and Claire. I love running, but I have never been so inspired to run, race, and blog about it since 4 years ago after I had Jackson. I grew up playing soccer and cheered in high school. My favorite part of both sports(and yes I consider cheer leading a sport) was the conditioning. I found myself running after practice was over on my own. That's when I realized that running may be the sport I really loved.

  1. I didn’t know that someone could dislike a maraschino cherry! They’re delicious. Mango sticky rice sounds delicious. I always see it on the menu and Asian restaurants, but have never tried it.

I HATE MARASCHINO CHERRIES TOO!!!! Ever since I was a kid – I cannot stomach them!!
J is too cute for wanting to ride with you on the bike! 🙂 And painting on himself – not a bad artist if you ask me! 🙂 Good job continuing to get after it on the bike, that’s super important!
And HECK YES to the Ikea set up! That stuff is IMPOSSIBLE! AGH! Go girls!!

  3. Already did BodyPump this morning…and tonight it’s a T25 video

  4. i have never had sticky rice but it kind of sounds delicious

Good for you for getting that furniture put together. I love Ikea but dang that stuff is a b**ch to put together 😦 Yum to the Thai you ate – I’m jealous. And yeah, sometimes you just gotta dance it out. I love that.

  6. I watched a “how it’s made” about maraschino cherries and it’s kinda gross. I ran this morning and it almost killed me haha (it was tough!) I’m on my way to the gym in a few hours for more cardio and strength.

I dance all the time. Sometimes you just have to!
