A soggy run and date night

Wednesday- 4.5 miles, 10:55 pace outside

I ran. I ran outside. I ran outside with HEATHER!!! I’m so happy to be running with Heather again. She was even nice enough to run at a very slow pace with me.

We woke up to rain, but by the time we started running it had stopped. It was refreshing, like everything I just been washed and now we got to run through it.

We had planned on 4 miles, but by the time we stopped chatting to check our watches it had been 4.5 miles. That my friends, is why running with friends is the best thing ever! I even got to bust out my jacket and capris to wear. I’m excited for the cooler weathers, not so prepared for Winter yet, but I’ll get there.

Me and J had a total lazy day Wednesday. As I mentioned yesterday, J was in a bit of a bad mood. Those are usually because he just needs some extra attention. So all day Wednesday I sat with him, played with him, and just enjoyed him and I.

That night J got to play with Grandma Lee Lee while Josh and I headed to the temple. 2 dates in 1 week? I know, so spoiled!

What does your ideal day look like?

Do you enjoy running in the rain or right after a rain storm?

About Sugar Plum Runner

Welcome to the Sugar Plum Runner! I grew up in WA state, but currently reside in UT with my husband Josh, son Jackson, and 2 daughters Lily and Claire. I love running, but I have never been so inspired to run, race, and blog about it since 4 years ago after I had Jackson. I grew up playing soccer and cheered in high school. My favorite part of both sports(and yes I consider cheer leading a sport) was the conditioning. I found myself running after practice was over on my own. That's when I realized that running may be the sport I really loved.

  2. I am so glad you got to have two date nights in one week! That has to be so nice! I don’t have kids, but I can only imagine how hard it must be to have date nights once you are parents! And isn’t running with friends the best? šŸ™‚

  3. I have been really enjoying running in the cooler temperatures. It’s really refreshing! I’m happy you’re back at it!

I really enjoy running in the rain, as long as it isn’t too cold. It keeps me from overheating. I am so looking forward to cool fall weather. It is going to dip into the 40’s for the first time tonight. I can’t believe a California girl like myself is so excited about that.

  7. I’m so glad you got to run!! I miss running so very much šŸ˜¦

It has been torrentially down pouring here all day – we are having flash floods! You are lucky it just stopped with a little drizzle for you šŸ™‚
I do love running in the rain though!

  9. I HATE running in the rain. It makes me feel gross. I love running just after the rain, when everything smells like rain and it’s (ideally) cooled off a little. My ideal day is the beach, time with friends, and good food šŸ™‚

Light or no rain… but I’m sure a heavy rain would make me feel like a beast!
My ideal day would take a blog post to describe! Hey, you may have given me an idea!

  11. Love these photos!

I actually never really enjoyed running in the rain (I’m kinda the biggest baby ever), but I once raced in a very light drizzle and it was PERFECT šŸ™‚
