workout

Saturday- 6 miles, 9:30 avg pace + abs

It has been 3 months since the last time I ran 6 miles. I felt good throughout the run and kept having to hold myself back. I did try some speed work during mile 3 to see how my legs would feel after. Well, my left hamstring is feeling it! I’m icing it a lot and foam rolling. Good thing tomorrow is a rest day(and I’ll take more if I need to). I also did a hilly route to make sure I’m not just sticking to flat roads. Lots of photos from the run because I was too excited to be running and everything looked too pretty to pass up.

Saturday afternoon we headed south with Josh’s family to pick raspberries. The farm was too cute and we had fun eating and picking the berries.

our buckets kept getting in the way when we were trying to take the picture haha. J’s got stuck in between him and Josh.

20130914-165101.jpgI love all the changing colors, cooler weather, and fun fall activities. I’m trying to do as much as possible until it snows!

Do you try and buy local produce?

what’s your fav raspberry recipe?

About Sugar Plum Runner

Welcome to the Sugar Plum Runner! I grew up in WA state, but currently reside in UT with my husband Josh, son Jackson, and 2 daughters Lily and Claire. I love running, but I have never been so inspired to run, race, and blog about it since 4 years ago after I had Jackson. I grew up playing soccer and cheered in high school. My favorite part of both sports(and yes I consider cheer leading a sport) was the conditioning. I found myself running after practice was over on my own. That's when I realized that running may be the sport I really loved.

  1. Raspberries are my favorite fruit, hands down. It stinks that they’re always so expensive at the store for the tiniest container but $3/lb would be my heaven! You’re already talking about snow?? How early does it start snowing in Utah?

oh em gee you and your family are so cute! I freaking love it!!!! let me start by admitting this: we are the same when it comes to being SO happy on a run and just taking pictures of everything! when i’m happy on a run it’s more like i’m a tourist in my own town! I get camera happy and am literally smiling as i’m running. but the most important thing is that you had a run and it’s feeling better! And you haven’t lost your magic with your pace! i’m so happy to read that my friend! I WANNA PICK RASPBERRIES! i bet they’re so good! j is so brave to go near that unknown mammal, lol! i’d be a scardy cat! ❤

  3. Oh looks like so much fun!! And I’m so glad that you are feeling so well with your running again…I can’t wait until I get to start training again 🙂
