Thursday- 3 miles speed work on treadmill
I slept in again, seriously, if I don’t plan on having a running buddy I usually sleep past my alarm. Boo. Any who, I had time for 3 miles so I tested out a bit of speed work. I ran 1 mile warm up then 3×800’s and then jogged a recovery 800 in between(that means I ran 2 laps on the treadmill at a faster pace, then ran 2 laps at a slower pace repeated 3 times). My leg feels great! I’m so glad I can start incorporating some speed into my workouts.
1. Just expect some kind of picture like this until the end of winter. I LOVE the mountains in UT during the fall/winter. I love the colors in this picture and then the low clouds. The picture doesn’t even do it justice/I’m a horrible photographer.
2. J had a really fun play date yesterday. I love that they’re are so many kids his age in our area. M’s mom Mary might be mad at me, but M found the clippers the other night and totally buzzed the side of his head(you can see it in the second pic)! It is too funny and now I know I’m going to have karma and J is going to do something equally mischievous.
3. Fall recipes. When Josh and I got married 3.5 years ago, I didn’t know how to cook anything but grilled cheese and Top of Ramen. No joke, I made it over and over until I was brave enough to try chicken and rice. Then we had that over and over. Luckily, I have gotten much braver and I’m proud to say I tried 3 new recipes this week! I already shared with you the 3 cheese skillet lasagna, and now I’m sharing the recipe to Broccoli Cheddar Soup from Not Without Salt blog(click on image to enlarge recipe). I made Rhodes Rolls and used my homemade jam. It was so good and perfect for the cold day we had.
What are your weekend plans?
