Workout
Tuesday- rest
You’d think after my 1 mile ‘run’ yesterday I would be more than ready to lace up my shoes. Nope, not really. I’m not sure what my deal this week is, but I think this is what they call a “Runner’s Funk.” You know what I do when I’m in a funk?
1. Paint my nails
2. Deep clean my house. I mean really clean. Scrubbing, vacuuming, laundry, dust anything and everything.
3. Play ninja’s with this little guy. He makes me wear these sunglasses, in his mind they make me more ninja? Oh, the ping paddle is my sword, duh.
of course he gets a real sword and Ninja Turtle. . .
4. Carb load, with more deliciousness. You know, for that next run that will be awesome.
5. Go walk around the outdoor outlet mall because it’s absolutely gorgeous outside. My parents being with me makes it 1,000 times better too.
What fun things do you when you’re not running?
Do you like painting your nails? Do you paint both your toe and finger nails or just one or the other?
I love painted nails! Right now they’re “naked” but tonight I plan on doing a nude-ish color on my fingers and a cranberry on my toes.
Ooh those colors sound so good! I need to find me a cranberry color:)
I love paining my nails but I haven’t in a while. When I’m in a running funk, I try to do other workouts. I figure I’m supposed to love running, so when I don’t I just don’t do it! haha Well, not always. If I’m training then of course I try to power through 🙂 I love your title though “soak it up!” yes!!
I like getting new music to look forward to running to. That is, if I’m just being lazy and need to just run haha
I am in a total runners funk. I feel a lot of the blogs I have been reading are also in a funk! So I am trying some different workouts (P90X), and sticking to walking! I always have my toe nails painted, and I will paint my nails when it is a special occasion!
We all go through running highs and lows. I’m sorry you’re in a funk but hey I’m sure it feels good to have a clean house and get other priorities done! Pretty nails too! I have not had time to paint mine.
Thanks Chelsea, you always have a great perspective:)
Try some cross training too…something new…like take a Zumba class or kickboxing! Doing something different always takes me back to loving running again.
I love having my nails painted too!
If I am in a workout funk of any kind, I def try & channel that energy into a new workout or cleaning. I love a clean home!
I paint my toes, but only in sandal weather. I rarely paint my fingers, but only because they get pretty beat up from rock climbing. Ride out the funk…sometimes the rest is good 🙂
I HATE, HATE, painting my nails. I’m the worst girl in the world 😉
No, you’re not at all. You just need a friend like me to paint then for you;)
The running funk seems to be seasonal. Most of the blogs I read have mentioned bad runs lately. I know it goes away because I have this every fall and early spring. The shifting weather causes changes in our brains while we are adapting to the change in sunlight and all the different stuff in the air released by awakening flowers or plants getting ready to sleep for the winter. The only thing to do is stick to the routine and muddle through. “And this too shall pass….”
I totally agree! I too have seen a lot of runner sight now in a funk, I never thought about the season change that’s interesting!
I eat a lot of pizza and do a lot of walking when I’m in a funk. Pizza cures all problems and walking makes me feel less lazy! Funks are normal and good though and you’ll be very energized when you come out of it!
That sounds like the best way to spend my time in a funk! I love pizza too:)
I love how productive you were! I hate to paint my fingernails. I’m a toenail girl!
