The best motivation to run when it’s cold

Workout

Friday- 3.75 miles with emily

Remember when I met the bachelor? Well, more importantly, I met Emily that night too. We bonded and now we’re bff’s. Yesterday I met up with Emily to run and chat. It was cold out. I did not want to get out of my warm bed, but knowing she was going to be waiting for me I got my lazy tooshie out of bed. That, is the best motivation to run in the cold, get a running buddy or multiple!

Katie invited us to go to the Boo Barn later that morning. I tried dressing J up in his Halloween costume but he’s terrified of it. Literally, he hates it. I’m not sure why, but I bribed him into wearing it and taking a picture in it. Then he could take it off. Man, if he only knew how cute he looks in it!

I dressed him in his spooky pajamas and me, Mckae, and J were off to meet up with Katie and Alicia. It was such a fun day. The kids loved all the Halloween games, goo making, and hayride.

Goo making:

The above picture: Cinderella running off(she’s late for curfew, duh), J sitting because his friend Lacey(kitty) sat. Silly kids.

J’s favorite, riding the pony.

20131011-145505.jpgAfter lunch, everyone crashed while I cleaned and scrubbed J’s car seat. The goo mentioned above somehow got opened on the way home and got everywhere. It was a nightmare. Thank goodness it all came out and didn’t stain or ruin anything.

I got to help my SIL Whit take my sister Neeley’s family pics. It was up in the beautiful canyon.

Then we hung out, went to dinner, and had a great Friday night. I love the weekend=)

Ever have to clean goo? Gum?

What’s your motivation to get up and run in the cold?

About Sugar Plum Runner

Welcome to the Sugar Plum Runner! I grew up in WA state, but currently reside in UT with my husband Josh, son Jackson, and 2 daughters Lily and Claire. I love running, but I have never been so inspired to run, race, and blog about it since 4 years ago after I had Jackson. I grew up playing soccer and cheered in high school. My favorite part of both sports(and yes I consider cheer leading a sport) was the conditioning. I found myself running after practice was over on my own. That's when I realized that running may be the sport I really loved.

Omg I love J’s costume! Hopefully he’ll get over his buzz fear soon so that he can have fun in it 🙂

Kids are funny that way. Mine did not really get it the first few times. Now, they dress up all the time and keep asking me what I am going to be for Halloween (Dad does not seem to satisfy them as an answer). I love running in the cold! I only get to do it for a few months a year, the rest of the time I have to do heat runs. I don’t have friends out here to run with since they are all working when I run but, I don’t mind since I love running by myself.

I live your scenic views while running. I still have to get Breslin a costume. She’s still debating!

I’m trying to enlist some friends to run with me in the mornings. Hopefully they don’t mind running all winter long outside. We will see how that goes. I also have a goal to work on speed this winter so that should help too. Even if it just helps me get to the treadmill in the mornings. Up and out of bed is up and out of bed. I love the costume. Glad he agreed to take a picture in it. Kids sure are scared of weird things.

He looks so CUTE as Buzz Lightyear! OMG! 🙂

I just ordered our costumes from Disney today. 🙂

I agree that costume rocks! Honestly my best motivation is that I know how horrible the dog is if we don’t get out running!
