Girls morning and the best cure when your sick

Thank you for all your well wishes in the comments yesterday! Luckily, I’m feeling so much better! I still didn’t run yesterday so I could fully recover and I’m glad I did. I’m ready to get an awesome run in tomorrow. Unfortunately, J has had a fever since yesterday=( He’s not acting sick, so I’m hoping it’s just a cold.

I’m glad I was feeling better because my best friends all came over for our monthly girls morning! It was at my house this month and I made cocoa and brownies.

I love these girls, they make me laugh harder than anyone. So many good things happening with all of them, it’s always fun to catch up.

Amanda and I and our boys. They played so well together, we would just hear them giggling. Amanda has a new baby girl too, she was asleep though.

And of course, what would the weekend be without the BYU game. My sister Bree and her family came over. Luckily BYU beat University of Houston. . . barely! I’m pretty sure the best cure when you’re feeling under the weather is family. Even better cure? Family that comes over and makes chocolate dipped pretzels! Yum!

All in all, it’s been a pretty chill weekend. Hope you all have had a great weekend too.

Welcome to the Sugar Plum Runner! I grew up in WA state, but currently reside in UT with my husband Josh, son Jackson, and 2 daughters Lily and Claire. I love running, but I have never been so inspired to run, race, and blog about it since 4 years ago after I had Jackson. I grew up playing soccer and cheered in high school. My favorite part of both sports(and yes I consider cheer leading a sport) was the conditioning. I found myself running after practice was over on my own. That's when I realized that running may be the sport I really loved.

  1. I’m so sorry your boy is sick. I hope you get to feeling better too! It is so fun that you and your girl friends get together once a month! I still need to find more girlfriends since my husband and I just moved this summer.

  2. oh how fun! That sounds awesome. I love milk chocolate, then white, then dark. I’m not a big dark chocolate fan, but if I really need some and that’s the only kind around, I’m not turning it down 😉
    During normal training, I’ll probably run at most 7 or 8 miles spread throughout the week before a half. Good luck!!

    I don’t taper a whole lot prior to a half. I won’t do anything too strenuous and I’d probably take the day or two before the race off. Other than that it is business as usual.
