Saturday-5.5 miles outside with Jessica
One of the nice things about the cooler temps is sleeping in. I don’t have to get up so early to beat the heat, so I slept in yesterday morning and then headed out on a run with my next door neighbor Jessica. I live right up against a mountain, so any roads around me are going to be hills. I usually avoid them at all costs or go to a nearby trail that is flat.
Yesterday, Jessica pushed me out of my running comfort zone. I’ve been thinking about mine a lot lately.
Basically, my running comfort zone is as follows:
my treadmill-I love how I can jump on it whenever, wearing whatever, have my water, food, bathroom, entertainment all right there. It’s easy.
slow paces-they are ‘safe’again, it’s easy
flat roads-yup, because it’s easy
I mentioned in my last post I’ve been slacking a lot in my running. I tend to get into a groove and then stay there. Well, I’m done. I’m done playing it safe with my running. I want to set new goals, work hard, and challenge myself. Even if it simple things like running outside more.
I’ve heard this quote from a couple people, “It’s not easy, but it’s worth it” I’m going to be repeating this to myself a lot as my new running mantra. I’m ready for change=)
After my cold run, all I wanted was warm oatmeal(and a hot shower). I sliced up some bananas in there too, wasn’t my favorite haha
Then we headed over to the outlet mall a new outfit for J. We’re taking family pics and he needed some new nice jeans without holes. I found some on sale at Gap, score! This is how much J enjoys shopping. . .
do you have a running ‘comfort zone’?
