50 shades of pink

Wednesday- 3 miles outside, solo

I texted my neighbor early yesterday morning to tell her to run without me. My leg was feeling okay, but I didn’t want to slow her down. Since Josh was working from home I knew I could go running a little later in the day. When it was time to lace up my shoes, I looked down and saw 50 shades of pink ha

20131120-155633.jpgThat’s 2 pink tops, shoes, and even my bra was a bright neon pink. I guess I was feeling pink yesterday instead of purple.

I started out nice and slow, I just wanted to run what was comfortable and not hurt my leg anymore than what it was on Tuesday. I felt great the whole run, at one point after I got up a hill I just felt like I was cruising. I don’t think I have ever felt that way before. It was awesome. When I got home I looked at my splits and I was blown away!

1 mile: 10:07

2 mile: 7:30

3 mile: 8:30

I had no idea I ran a 7:30 mile! Since I’m still taking it easy since my injury, I haven’t paid too much attention to pace. But it felt so good to see a couple of faster miles in there even though I don’t feel like I was pushing it that hard. It pays to rest and listen to your body and not come back too quick. Just to make sure, I did some more foam rolling when I got home.

I also sported my new headband on the run. It definitely did it’s job and kept me warm. When I have the right gear for winter running I’m more likely to get out there.

20131120-155647.jpgSince I ran a bit later, I was starving by the time I got home. I made leftovers from Tuesday night’s dinner, Buffalo chicken wraps. I’m loving Iowa Girl Eats blog. Thanks again Ashley for sharing her blog awhile back!

20131120-155504.jpgOh, and I snacked on one of my favorite things, white cheddar popcorn. Is there any popcorn better? I think not. . .

20131120-155534.jpgHope you have a wonderful Thursday! Did this week fly by for anyone else?

what did you snack on today?

what’s your favorite popcorn flavor?

About Sugar Plum Runner

Welcome to the Sugar Plum Runner! I grew up in WA state, but currently reside in UT with my husband Josh, son Jackson, and 2 daughters Lily and Claire. I love running, but I have never been so inspired to run, race, and blog about it since 4 years ago after I had Jackson. I grew up playing soccer and cheered in high school. My favorite part of both sports(and yes I consider cheer leading a sport) was the conditioning. I found myself running after practice was over on my own. That's when I realized that running may be the sport I really loved.

  2. You stud! that is a killer tempo run, I mean it honestly is how you get faster – by taking those breaks and coming back stronger
