Laughter is contagious and kindness is powerful

Tuesday- 3 miles on treadmill

I just ran this morning, no expectations, no set speed, just ran. Love those runs.

Then I had to the thing I hate the very most. . . grocery shopping in a blizzard. I should’ve gone Monday but I didn’t and I paid the ultimate price.

20131203-194119.jpgWe did it and now we have food for awhile so I don’t have to leave the house for a long time=)

After J’s nap I wanted to take him out in the snow. I bundled us up and he played while I shoveled the driveway. We got dumped on yesterday! I love snow in December because it makes it seem more like Christmas.

20131203-194237.jpgJ absolutely loved it. He loved eating it too. Seriously, I can be having a horrible day and this kid has a way of making me so happy. We just laughed and laughed. I would say that yesterday was definitely a highlight of my year.

20131203-194143.jpg 20131203-194158.jpgI was feeling overwhelmed with gratitude for my little guy, my husband, this wonderful season and then something happened.ย  3 little angels showed up. Seriously, these 3 wonderful helpers showed up and helped me clear my driveway for a good 20 minutes. It was amazing. It taught me a HUGE lesson I needed yesterday and it brings more tears as I write this. I know they have no idea what an impact they made on me, but it was incredible. (it’s a sneaky pic, I didn’t want them to think I was crazy ha)

I’m definitely inspired to make this season about service to others. I know sometimes it can be hectic, but I want to remember the reason for the season;)

how has someone shown kindness to you?

About Sugar Plum Runner

Welcome to the Sugar Plum Runner! I grew up in WA state, but currently reside in UT with my husband Josh, son Jackson, and 2 daughters Lily and Claire. I love running, but I have never been so inspired to run, race, and blog about it since 4 years ago after I had Jackson. I grew up playing soccer and cheered in high school. My favorite part of both sports(and yes I consider cheer leading a sport) was the conditioning. I found myself running after practice was over on my own. That's when I realized that running may be the sport I really loved.

We skipped the grocery store yesterday – you were brave to go out in it! We had the very same experience yesterday!! I was shoveling the driveway while Lacey played in it – she had an absolute blast, so fun to watch – and some girls came over to help me shovel. I invited them in for hot chocolate afterwards. ๐Ÿ™‚
