Treadmill Tuesday: Run By 2’s

Workout

Monday- 4 miles on treadmill

Treadmill Tuesday: Run By 2’s

This workout is great for practicing endurance. It can also be tailored to beginner or advanced runners.

20131209-173247.jpgTo make it more challenging, my ‘faster’ and ‘jog’ pace went up by 2 every time. This workout really helps the time fly on the treadmill. I was constantly thinking about the time goal I was currently on, “I just have 6 min at this pace” and so on. This could be great for beginners, just substitute the ‘jog’ for ‘walk’.

The rest of the day I was go go go! J peed through his diaper last night(he’s done it a couple times before) and I finally made my way to Ikea to get a mattress protector.

* If your child spills something or pees on a mattress with no protector try pouring baking soda on the wet area. Let it soak it all up, then vacuum the baking soda up(ideally you just get a $12 protector from Ikea;)*

I tried a new hair do on J today, one that my sisters do on their boys. I’m not sure I did it right haha

20131209-173306.jpgAfter dinner my sister came over to watch J so Josh and I could do some Christmas shopping. We went to Santa’s workshop 😉

20131209-212302.jpgI can not wait for Christmas morning, he’s just too easy to please.

what are you asking Santa for this year?

Do you have all your shopping done?

What are some treadmill tricks/workouts you have?

About Sugar Plum Runner

Welcome to the Sugar Plum Runner! I grew up in WA state, but currently reside in UT with my husband Josh, son Jackson, and 2 daughters Lily and Claire. I love running, but I have never been so inspired to run, race, and blog about it since 4 years ago after I had Jackson. I grew up playing soccer and cheered in high school. My favorite part of both sports(and yes I consider cheer leading a sport) was the conditioning. I found myself running after practice was over on my own. That's when I realized that running may be the sport I really loved.

  1. man I want to go to target so bad!

  2. I went to Target yesterday with my husband too, and we got a bunch of Christmas gifts! We only have a few more people to buy for and then we are done with Christmas shopping! I am hoping to get out again today. I am going to try to do my Christmas shopping during the week so I don’t have to deal with the crazy crowds on the weekends.

I ran on the treadmill this morning too. I have always hated the treadmill, but I am just so happy to be able to run right now 🙂
I am not even close to being done with shopping – just started actually!

  4. Target is awesome…and SO dangerous!! I hope you found lots of good things! 😉

  5. Target just came to Canada (right before I left haha) and I must say, that place is not underrated!!

  6. I have not gotten ANY shopping done! I am very much a last minute Christmas shopper! Treadmill tricks…I like to do speedwork on the treadmill sometimes (I’ve done 400s and 800s on there…lots of great speedwork workouts online to work on speed) and also I like to break up the run in my head if I’m doing any run on there longer than 5 miles. I also like to watch TV or the news…lots of distractions on the treadmill definitely help!

  7. I already did some shopping online….which is where I’ll prob do the rest of it. Haha!

Great treadmill workout! Some tricks I will do is count 100 steps and then look up to the screen, sounds weird but it really helps! I’m done with shopping! A lot was done at Target! Love that place! Som

  9. Allllllmost have it all done! Just have my husband left which isn’t bad!

  10. I just spent $80 at Target. Oops. Not all of it was for me though 🙂 I am not very far into my Christmas shopping though
