Workout
Saturday- another 4 miles outside with Heather + arm workout from NTC
I love running for so many reasons. One reason, is that it’s free therapy. If I run alone I have my thoughts and I can think and solve a lot of problems during those miles. When I run with friends, we chat about deeper things. As the miles tick on, the more the words just spill out. For me, it’s so therapeutic. I’m grateful for those heart to heart conversations.
I wore my new shirt I got from my SIL for Christmas and my new jacket I got from my MIL (both are from Nike). I love how long they are(cover my backside) and how lightweight the shirt and jacket were.
The rest of our Saturday was spent catching up on laundry and relaxing as a family. I love days where we get to just be our little family and putt around the house.
Silly faces while we played Ninja Turtles
J ‘read’ some new books while I worked on my 2014 goals.
Later that night we went to Thai food with some friends/family who are in town. I love curry so the food was great!
It was fun to see Kristin while she was in town and it’s always fun getting together with Jillian.
The boys and I headed home to watch Man of Steel(J only saw the first 10 min) with even more food. Ya we’re livin’ it up until the New Year;)
What’s one thing you’ve been running for?
Do you make goals for the New Year?
I definitely consider running to be a free therapy for myself, hoping to save lots of money this way 😉 and a big yes to new year’s resolutions, I never miss an opportunity to make goals and lists
We save money on therapy and spend it on shoes, it’s a win win ha
I’m running for training…obviously, but I’m also running because it’s the only thing keeping me happy/sane while I slowly freeze here in Chicago. It’s like the one time of day I’m guaranteed to leave the house haha. I am making goals for the New Year and will be sharing them next week!
I totally get that. I’m glad you have your one thing while you’re there=)
I’ve made BIG resolutions in the past but never really stuck to them, so I’m excited to make small, manageable goals for 2014! I’m working on them right now 🙂 You’re picture of Thai food makes me really crave curry and Pad Thai – two of my favorites!
Isn’t thai food soo addicting? Do you have many Thai restaurants near you?
Yes! California has a bunch of Thai restaurants but my husband and I have a favorite that we found right after we moved to where we are now and that’s the only place we ever go!!
Oh good, so you can get your craving satisfied ha
I definitely run for my sanity. Also to work off at least some of the treats I like to eat 😉
I don’t usually make goals at the New Year but maybe I’ll set some running goals for the year. That sounds like a good idea.
Loved Man of Steel! Not sure if it was actually that good, or if it was how good looking Superman was… 😉 I make goals for the new year, but I never really plan anything out. It’s sort of like, hmm I think I’ll do that next year! Which is weird b/c I’m a total control freak!
haha I can relate, I like control so I think when we make a goal we know we will have to do it. If we just have an idea then it’s okay if we do it or not haha
Lol exactly!
