Treadmill Tuesday: cover it up

Monday- 3 miles on treadmill

I squeezed in a quick 3 mile treadmill run in between organizing parts of my house. I organized our bathroom closet and it looks great now. I still need to organize the guest room closet. . .=(

In random exciting news, J took his first shower. Remember when he was afraid of his Buzz costume forever? Well he was also afraid of the shower, but now he enjoys it ha

We also went through the car wash, winters in UT take a number on your cars. They cover the roads with salt or sand to help with the ice, but it ruins your car if you don’t get it washed often. Now I’m hoping it doesn’t snow or rain for awhile.

Treadmill Tuesday: Cover it Up

I think one of the hard parts about running on  a treadmill is having all the numbers just staring at you in the face. One thing I do sometimes is cover the treadmill screen with a towel. I tell myself listen to 5 songs then I can look at it.

IMG_0298After I listen to 5 songs I’ll run with the cover off for 2 laps and then pick a new number of songs to listen to with the cover on. It’s simple, but affective=)

I hope you all have a wonderful and safe New Year’s Eve!!

What are your plans tonight?

Have you made any resolutions yet?

About Sugar Plum Runner

Welcome to the Sugar Plum Runner! I grew up in WA state, but currently reside in UT with my husband Josh, son Jackson, and 2 daughters Lily and Claire. I love running, but I have never been so inspired to run, race, and blog about it since 4 years ago after I had Jackson. I grew up playing soccer and cheered in high school. My favorite part of both sports(and yes I consider cheer leading a sport) was the conditioning. I found myself running after practice was over on my own. That's when I realized that running may be the sport I really loved.

  1. when I run on the treadmill ( in those rare cases) I always put a towel over the front. i swear it is a total mental game for me. I can go so much longer not staring at the screen

No plans tonight which I’m super excited about! It’s supposed to be cold and rainy so I’m looking forward to relaxing at home 🙂 I do the same thing with the treadmill. The numbers are the worst!

oooh, i like the cover up trick. I feel like it makes running so much harder when you have to watch the time slowly pass. No big plans for today, just relaxing and making some goals for the new year 🙂

  4. I love squeezing in a workout with all of the chores. Have a great NYE!

The treadmills at our gym have personal TVs, which is great, but the time and miles are right there staring at you the entire time. I’ve been going to this gym for two years now and just three weeks ago I realized that you can make the time and miles disappear. It was the best day of my life. Time goes much faster now! Happy New Year! Have a fantastic night!

  6. I love the idea of covering up the screen with a towel! Brilliant! Tonight me and the hubs are just staying at home relaxing, eating dinner, playing games, and watching a movie. Low key, but perfect. I hope you have a good night and Happy New Year!

  7. Happy New Year’s Eve!! I also have to cover the numbers on the treadmill or I quit after like 0.2 miles…
