Discovery Gateway and the end of Christmas

Workout

Thursday- taking down Christmas and rearranging my entire house, it’s exhausting

Yesterday was a whirlwind of a day. I got up early to start taking down our Christmas decorations and then I proceeded to deep clean each room. It was a lot of work! Here’s J’s room all organized.

Then I drop our Christmas tree off where all the trees go to die, so sad.

We ate lunch and met my MIL and J’s cousin C at Discovery Gateway in Salt Lake. My MIL bought passes and the boys had a blast!

Later on my neighbor came over 2 times to try and help me with my leaking garbage disposal. No luck=(

I’m so glad it’s the weekend. Even with the holiday, I felt like this was the longest week!! I think I’m just used to all the fun relaxed days from vacation.

Would you rather paint or color?

What’s your favorite chip?

I love all Doritos!

About Sugar Plum Runner

Welcome to the Sugar Plum Runner! I grew up in WA state, but currently reside in UT with my husband Josh, son Jackson, and 2 daughters Lily and Claire. I love running, but I have never been so inspired to run, race, and blog about it since 4 years ago after I had Jackson. I grew up playing soccer and cheered in high school. My favorite part of both sports(and yes I consider cheer leading a sport) was the conditioning. I found myself running after practice was over on my own. That's when I realized that running may be the sport I really loved.

  1. it is always the saddest part when it is time to take down the tree!

Doritos are always a chip win but there’s this type of lays chip that’s called tangy carolina bbq and it’s pretty much a cross of salt and vinegar and bbq flavors, it’s amazing! my condolences about your christmas tree

Sour cream and onion chips are the best. Or anything zappos. Yum. Now I want chips…

  4. I would rather color than paint. Painting is too messy and I can’t stay in the lines. Favorite chips I think are just plain, super salty, potato chips. I don’t really eat chips too much anymore!

  5. I still haven’t brought myself to take down my decorations yet – I need to but it’s SO SAD! (and I just got back into town this week)
As far as favorite chip? I’m actually NOT a doritos fan. I do love fritos, or the tostitos with lime. Yum! Oh, and I’d choose coloring over painting any day.

  6. Me too! This week has felt sooooo long! Somehow the day off in the middle didn’t help as much as the days off last week did. So glad it’s Friday though. J’s room is cute!

  7. Dortitos really are GREAT chips. I’m also obsessed with tortilla chips, especially when dipped in salsa and/or guac!

Taking the tree down is definitely a workout! Ours is coming down this weekend. We have a fake one so I don’t have to drop it off anywhere, but everyone else around here puts them out on the curb and it makes me sad to see them.

That museum looks like a blast! Cute pictures! And I like to paint and color with my daughter, but coloring is generally a lot easier to clean up. (So I guess I like that better.)

  9. Leaky garbage disposal? Oh no! I hope you get that fixed soon! I need to finish taking down my Christmas decorations. So sad! 😦

  10. Ohh you are reminding me I need to take my decor down! I love it and really do not want to take it down but I know I need to.

  11. Ripple Sour Cream & Onion or Salt & Vinager Kettle chips…yummy

    • mmm I love all of those! Okay, so I think I’m following you on Instagram, but there’s 3 of you that post on your blog right? Sometimes I get confused, so I just wanted to verify haha

I think I would choose coloring over painting. I do enjoy painting but it kind of stresses me out 🙂

  13. Taking down Christmas decorations is the saddest day of the year for me 😉 And aww man the Christmas tree graveyard is depressing. We leave ours out on the street on a certain day and people come to collect it. Glad I don’t have to see that haha

So sad when you have to take down the decorations! I love to paint! Painting walls is so much fun! I am weird like that, and I love corn chips and salsa!
