Tuesday- 3.5 miles on treadmill (tempo run)
Thank you so much for all your suggestions yesterday! I haven’t signed up for a race, but I think it would be smart to change up my workout from running to a few other exercises. I don’t have a gym membership, but a few suggested changing it up would help, and I think you’re right!
Another way for me to get my running motivation back is running fast. I always get stuck just running a comfortable pace but yesterday, I did a little tempo work and it felt so great!
It looked like this:
.5 mile warmup
.5 mile @ 8:20 pace
.5 mile @ 10 pace
repeat 3 times
.5 mile cool down
I don’t know what it is, but when I do a really hard workout and push myself I feel so alive. I know how cheesy that sounds, but pushing my body to do something I didn’t think it could and then accomplishing it is a wonderful feeling.
And just like that, I have that craving to run again because I want to push myself. I’m grateful for this body of mine.
And on a funny/frustrating note, I did a large load of darks yesterday and when I went to pull it out of the washer all of the clothes were covered in little tiny pieces of paper. A stack of business cards had gone through the wash=( I had to shake every item of clothing, even socks before I put them in the dryer haha It was ridiculous.
