Packing, eating, and stretching

Workout

Monday- 5 miles on treadmill

Ahh, I really needed that run! I haven’t ran over 4 miles in prob 2 or 3 months? We’re moving into your new house this week and Josh had yesterday off from work. So, while I got in some miles, he took J to get doughnuts. J was so thrilled to be getting doughnuts with dad, so cute.

I took a good chunk of time stretching after my workout. Stretching is just as important as the workout. I’ve learned that if I want to stay injury free, I do dynamic stretching before, and more stretching after each workout.

20140217-190145.jpgDon’t mind those boxes in the background ha. Yesterday we spent the whole day packing. We’re just about done. The rest of the week I’m going to be at the new house cleaning and painting. I can’t wait to show you guys more pics! Until then, here’s a boring pic of all the boxes in what used to be our front room.

20140217-190117.jpg**Packing tip I came up with: I didn’t want to take everything out of and pack all my bathroom bins, so I used some Suran wrap(it’s even festive) and covered the bins so nothing would fall out. I’ll let ya know how that works out. . .

Since most of the day J spent running around us and ‘helping’ us clean, we asked him what he wanted to do the rest of the night. He said he wanted fries, I know, doughnuts and fries in one day? Well there is a saying. . .YOLO haha We went to Chili’s cuz I had a coupon and gift cards, score!

Have a great Tuesday!

are you good about stretching?

if you could do anything tonight what would it be?

About Sugar Plum Runner

Welcome to the Sugar Plum Runner! I grew up in WA state, but currently reside in UT with my husband Josh, son Jackson, and 2 daughters Lily and Claire. I love running, but I have never been so inspired to run, race, and blog about it since 4 years ago after I had Jackson. I grew up playing soccer and cheered in high school. My favorite part of both sports(and yes I consider cheer leading a sport) was the conditioning. I found myself running after practice was over on my own. That's when I realized that running may be the sport I really loved.

Nice job on the 5 miles! I go through phases where I’m really good with stretching and ones where I’m really bad about it, I should probably be doing more right now.

  2. Congrats on 5 miles and working out while packing….I usually lose all motivation to do anything when packing. I am not great at stretching at all but have started to take a weekly stretch class to force me to do stretch it out after a long week of workouts.

  3. i am terrible at the whole stretching part. I need to do it more often. man i want mexican food now!

  4. I am seeing bloggers eating donuts all over the internets lately. You people are killing me. Ok, ok maybe I’ll eat some after my marathon.
    😉

  5. If I could do anything tonight, I am pretty sure I would choose sitting on a beach somewhere beautiful and watching the sun set 🙂

  6. I’m the worst at stretching! I’m trying to be better at it and also better about actually doing warm ups before I run. It’s kind of a hard habit to get into (I know, I have such a hard life). If I could do anything today, I would stay in bed reading books, blogs and watching movies. Also eating a lot. Too bad that’s not possible haha

  7. Oh YOLO, haha 🙂 I might need I remember that next time I do something that’s not in my best interests in the future.
I’m terrible about stretching! And on the off chance that I do stretch, it’s never dynamic. :/ Kudos to you for keeping it in your routine!

  8. Covering your bins in saran wrap is genius! I’m hoping to move within the next month or two and I’ll definitely be borrowing that trick. My success with stretching comes and goes in spurts. Sometimes I’m lazy for a week or two and sometimes I’m really good about spending quality time loosening things up.

Nice job on the stretching! I’m often not so good about it, but trying to do better as the mileage amps up!
