Update I promised and Weekly goals(late)

Saturday- 4 miles outside with Heather

Monday- 2.55 mile walk with my mom(all uphill!)

My parents drove all the way from WA State on Saturday night(they’re moving here to UT). They get to stay with us while their house in WA is on the market. It’s been so fun! My mom and I got to walk yesterday and she helped me paint my living room.

Here’s what the living room looked like before:

After(the pic doesn’t do it justice, the green in the before is much brighter in person):

I love how it turned out. I think it’s a lot more calming and still adds a nice splash of color. We still have a large wall in our entry that is green but the ceiling is too high for this scaredy cat, so we’ll see if I can bribe my dad to do it=)

We also got new carpet upstairs. The carpet before was wrapped around the skirt board, so we ripped it off and had a lot of help(thanks Lee Ann and Alisha) pulling out staples and carpet. I painted all the railings white too. There are still a bunch of holes I need to fill in on the skirt boards and then repaint them.

J loves the new house and begs to play outside in the little sandbox everyday. I love his little personality.

About Sugar Plum Runner

Welcome to the Sugar Plum Runner! I grew up in WA state, but currently reside in UT with my husband Josh, son Jackson, and 2 daughters Lily and Claire. I love running, but I have never been so inspired to run, race, and blog about it since 4 years ago after I had Jackson. I grew up playing soccer and cheered in high school. My favorite part of both sports(and yes I consider cheer leading a sport) was the conditioning. I found myself running after practice was over on my own. That's when I realized that running may be the sport I really loved.

  1. Your house is looking great! I know you are having fun with your parents being there! Enjoy it when you can! Great job on your goals! I’m loving all bright colors lately because I am so ready for spring!

Your house is shaping up beautifully! It’s been a while since I’ve gotten shin splints but I usually get them from too much jumping rather than walking or jogging uphill.

  3. jumpeatrun says:

I use to get awful shin splints! Now i just have trouble with my hips it seems! Lots of stretching, compression socks and strengthening the calves helped though.

  4. I am wearing blue today!! Your house is looking amazing!

  5. fionaboger says:

House looks great! I am impressed with your home improvement skills!!

  6. Your house is just so gorgeous! I was so excited about moving into my new tiny little one bedroom apartment, but your place is GORGEOUS! 🙂

  7. Piper's Run says:

I’m loving purple lately….but not for walls 😉

  8. LOVE the green walls. We have many green walls in my house and I agree, nice pop of color without screaming in your face. Love the white railings, looks much better than the black.
