Wknd Recap: all the good foods

Saturday- 6 miles outside @ 9:05 avg pace

I ran outside Saturday morning and it was perfect running weather. There’s a paved trial by my house and it was packed with runners. I love seeing all the runners out getting ready for upcoming races. The water fountain was on, and I felt energized.

There were, however, some thoughts of doubt. It’s always hard not comparing yourself to, in my case, last summer or whatever your last training was. It was hard to keep an even pace and just trust my training.

Friday night we headed to my nephews Birthday party. He turned one and knew how to eat a cupcake like a pro.

Saturday we watched conference, and I made cinnamon rolls. I know I always only supposed to eat 2 desserts this week, but I blew it on Saturday. I ate too many cinnamon rolls, but they were worth it! That night I went to my friend Shaylin’s baby shower and forgot to get a pic of us=(

Sunday we watched the last sessions of General Conference(with crepes), and then had a surprise graduation party for my BIL. My sister planned the whole party and it was a success, delicious food, and great company. I ended the night with a tres leche cake and strawberries, yup more desserts!

Now it’s Monday and I’m ready to jump back on the no sweets band wagon.

Welcome to the Sugar Plum Runner! I grew up in WA state, but currently reside in UT with my husband Josh, son Jackson, and 2 daughters Lily and Claire. I love running, but I have never been so inspired to run, race, and blog about it since 4 years ago after I had Jackson. I grew up playing soccer and cheered in high school. My favorite part of both sports(and yes I consider cheer leading a sport) was the conditioning. I found myself running after practice was over on my own. That's when I realized that running may be the sport I really loved.

    I might have to jump on that no sweets/less sweats bandwagon this week, I had a bit too much sugar this weekend. Great pace on that 6 miler btw!

  4. I’m definitely going to try to do a reduced sweets this week πŸ™‚ I know what you mean about doubts. My run this morning was hard and I kept thinking of how great of shape I was in last summer. But I’ll get back there! It will just take time. Let’s going running together soon!

    Ha, I have been doing no sweets for exactly a week now and I only cheated once!! I am so proud of myself and Friday night fro yo was worth the cheat moment. But I had a serious sweets addiction so I HAD to break it. πŸ™‚ Sounds like an awesome weekend – and yep, trusting your training is sometimes so hard but it’s the best thing to do. πŸ™‚ You’ve got this girly.

    • oh my gosh, you’re awesome! I cheated way too many times and I wouldn’t even count frozen yogurt as a treat…it’s yogurt after all lol yup, I think that qualifies me as a sugar addict haha

    I want to eat all of those things. I had frozen yogurt twice this weekend, but I did it as unhealthily as humanly possible. (Caramel drizzle mmmmmmmm.)
