The first sunburn is always the worst!

Yesterday was a rest day from running. Instead I scrubbed the bathrooms, vacuumed the house, and clean our bedding. I love getting into a clean bed with freshly vacuumed floors, it’s the best!

Later I got a text from Katie saying we needed to go to the park because it was so gorgeous out. I didn’t argue and before I knew it we were packed up and headed to the park with lunches. I think we spent a good 3 hours there? It was just too perfect outside to leave.

Playing around with my camera on Katie’s sweet daughter.

Unfortunately, I’m out of practice and forgot to put sunblock on me and J. Nothing too bad, but the first sunburn is always the worst and I always for horrible when J gets red at all. Once Josh got home, we went out to Olive Garden for dinner because they’re having there buy one take one promo going on and we can’t pass that up.

After a filling dinner and a long day, I’m so ready for my run today! I get so antsy on my rest days and I kinda love that feeling=)

About Sugar Plum Runner

Welcome to the Sugar Plum Runner! I grew up in WA state, but currently reside in UT with my husband Josh, son Jackson, and 2 daughters Lily and Claire. I love running, but I have never been so inspired to run, race, and blog about it since 4 years ago after I had Jackson. I grew up playing soccer and cheered in high school. My favorite part of both sports(and yes I consider cheer leading a sport) was the conditioning. I found myself running after practice was over on my own. That's when I realized that running may be the sport I really loved.

haha, you’re so right, it’s always the worst. luckily i’ve been in the sun on my runs lately and i’m building a super adorable running gear tan (garmin watch included, ugh). so i’m hoping when i’m finally at the beach that i’m not going to get super burnt! πŸ™‚

  2. Totally! The day got away from me yesterday and I didn’t get my work out in and it drove me a little crazy. Can’t wait to come home from work and work out tonight!

  3. Girl I really need to get my clean on! This is so inspiring I am going to do some spring cleaning this week!

  4. My rest days are pretty crazy with work so I feel like I am getting in a workout :). We have so many parks around us and I love it!

  5. Ouch! Good lesson/reminder for everyone! I usually rest on Wednesdays, in the morning I love sleeping in, but sometimes in the afternoon my body gets confused as to why we still haven’t worked out!

Hooray for warm sunny park days! I’m with you though…the first sunburn of the year is always the worst one. Don’t feel bad! These things happen.

We have lots of good parks near us and actually just discovered a new one recently. My daughter is a playground fanatic so we go as often as we can. πŸ™‚
