Hiking Doughnut Falls and Easter

Friday- 3 miles on treadmill

Saturday- hiking Doughnut Falls- 3.5 miles or so

Friday we headed to a nearby farm. J was supposed to go with his cousins and Grandma on Thursday, but since he was sick Grandma took him Friday. He was so excited and felt so special since Grandma had already been the day before too.

Saturday morning I got up early and got my hair done. I know a lot of people dread doing that, but I look forward to it! I love looking fresh, getting my hair trimmed, and having someone else wash it=) Right after, I met up with Josh, J and Josh’s dad for a hike. It was gorgeous weather and the trail was supposed to be 3 miles round trip. No biggie, we thought… until we ran into snow!

It got a little tricky with Jackson so Josh pretty much carried him the whole way. I’m so glad we didn’t turn around though. The top was so awesome! The very top only Josh and I climbed and Rich was kind enough to watch J for us. You climb in under the water fall and it pours through a little hole like a Doughnut hole. And since it was all icy, the only way down from the top was sliding on your bum in the snow…it was a blast!

Sunday we went to church and then headed to my in laws for dinner. The cousins had an Easter egg hunt, we took family pictures, and then ate waaayy too much. Of course, it was all really fun and the food was delicious!

For Easter J got a fun family game for us to play. It was a happy Easter!!

This week I need to calm down on all the sweets for sure! It’s going to be hard since we went home with bags of candy…=)

Good luck to everyone running Boston!!!

how was Easter?

ever hiked to a waterfall before?

About Sugar Plum Runner

Welcome to the Sugar Plum Runner! I grew up in WA state, but currently reside in UT with my husband Josh, son Jackson, and 2 daughters Lily and Claire. I love running, but I have never been so inspired to run, race, and blog about it since 4 years ago after I had Jackson. I grew up playing soccer and cheered in high school. My favorite part of both sports(and yes I consider cheer leading a sport) was the conditioning. I found myself running after practice was over on my own. That's when I realized that running may be the sport I really loved.

wow, that hike looks gorgeous! I have hiked to a waterfall before and I’d really love to go hiking again sometime soon now that the weather is so lovely.

Looks like such an awesome hike. Colorado is the same way…you think it’s warm enough and then you get up a bit in altitude and totally run into snow (when your wearing shorts ) haha.

Ok these pictures are all SO perfect and beautiful!! Amazing! And yes getting your hair done is the best thing ever – the place I go does a mini head massage and it’s heavenly! 🙂 That looks like an awesome hike, even with the snow. Way to be troopers! And yes, I think everyone ate wayyyy too much yesterday! I sure did!!

  6. Easter egg hunts are sooo cute with kids! My sister’s boyfriend’s little cousins came over and did an Easter Egg hunt in our backyard yesterday afternoon and it was so much fun watching their excitement (and seeing them walk RIGHT past a eggs right out in the open, lol). Looks like you guys had a great hike on Saturday – I love seeing snow when its warm out!

  7. Sharsti! All of your family pictures are TOO cute! That hike sounds like a blast. Super jealous!

Also I love your jeans! Where are they from??

  8. Oh my goodness your gorgeous family! Too precious! Lol I hate getting my hair cut- if it could stop right after they shampoo your hair, that would be fantastic 😉 I hiked to a waterfall in Hawaii a few years back!
