Monday- 4 miles on treadmill + abs

I’m so glad I got myself out of bed early this morning. I wanted to just curl back up in my warm covers but I knew I’d regret it if I did.

I did a .5 mile warmup

1 mile goal pace-8:34

.5 mile recovery

1 mile goal pace

.25 recovery

.5 mile goal pace

.25 cool down

After I stretch I’ve been trying to do a few crunches. Yesterday J wanted to help motivate me, bed head and all.

It was a great quick run before I needed to be out the door. I took my MIL to a Dr. appt yesterday and got to start a new book. Anyone read it? Josh did and thought it was pretty good. It’s a quick read and I’m liking it so far.

On a random note, I’m also really liking the benefits of not eating after 8pm. I mentioned Josh and I have been doing that lately, and we both feel so much better! If I feel hungry after 8 I take a big glass of water and that’s usually what my body needed. It’s amazing what just little changes can do to your overall health.

We spent the rest of the day watching way too many Parenthood episodes with my mom, we’re addicted! Okay more me than my mom, but it’s so good. Later on, we had family night and Josh and J played lions. It’s J’s new thing that he loves and Josh and him will play forever! J gets in his ‘cage’ and asks me to pet him haha

Welcome to the Sugar Plum Runner! I grew up in WA state, but currently reside in UT with my husband Josh, son Jackson, and 2 daughters Lily and Claire. I love running, but I have never been so inspired to run, race, and blog about it since 4 years ago after I had Jackson. I grew up playing soccer and cheered in high school. My favorite part of both sports(and yes I consider cheer leading a sport) was the conditioning. I found myself running after practice was over on my own.     I’ve also been implementing the no eating after 8 thing for the past month or two now. I also try to get in daily walks, get enough sleep, and drink enough water.

    I am a big fan of no food after 8p. Occasionally I’ll have a glass of milk if I’m really hungry but usually it’s all mental. J’s lion game is adorable. He’s such a cutie!

    I love PARENTHOOD! I’m getting back in my morning workout routine after taking two weeks off. It felt good to get the extra sleep those weeks, but I didn’t prioritize the evening workouts, so now I’m accepting that for now, the morning workouts are for me. (as long as I’m at a class, I can’t workout by myself in the morning yet!)

  4. I’ve cut down on my sweet intakes, but I still could work on that! I also love Parenthood… I’m waiting for them to update the episodes on Netflix so I can watch more!

    My sister and I used to play “Lion King” when we were little and we’d crawl around the edge of the pool and roar… the imagination of kids is hilarious!

  5. Haha I love that J gets under the laundry basket as his “cage” So cute! Anytime I don’t want to get out of bed to workout but do anyways, I”m always so glad I did.

    I really need to get back on the “no late night eating” thing….that has always been one of my downfalls and I never feel as good the next day. I’m going to think of you tonight and chug some water 🙂

    Parenthood is awesome… I try not to watch it thought because it’s so emotional and I always cry… 🙂 I try and keep to that no eating after 8 rule as much as possible too… It just feels so much better not being full when you go to bed. 🙂

  9. I LOVE Parenthood!! We’ll have to talk all about it the next time we get together! If the weather warms up next week, we should have Janae and Brooke meet us for a park date before I go to work.

  10. I would love to be able to not eat after 8 but with my crazy work schedule it is hard not too sometimes! I also have super low blood sugar so I need to eat something right before bed in order to not wake up in the middle night feeling deprived! I love that book as well!!
