Rest days can be best days too

Tuesday- rest day

It felt so good to sleep in yesterday. J is naturally an early riser, has been ever since he was born. He usually wakes up about 7:30am but lately he’s been getting up at 6am and throughout the night. Maybe a growth spurt? Anywho, yesterday he slept in until 8am, and I took advantage and slept in with him. Best. Choice. Ever.

cuddling with my ninja

We rushed and got ready to meet my MIL at her school (she’s a kindergarten teacher) to see her cute kids perform. It was the cutest performance of The Little Red Hen. J loved seeing his Grandma and hearing all the songs.

We ran errands, and did chores the rest of the day. I decided to vacuum under the couch cushions and to my surprise I found a whole bunch of sand. I guess J has been storing sand from his sand box in our couch cushions haha

Later my mom made the best terriyaki kabobs! Oh how I love BBQ season.

Then I found this: Josh found his old N64 and the boys were playing Mario Kart. They are the cutest=)

Ended a perfect rest day with this gorgeous view from my cool circle window. Ya pretty random but I’m really starting to love this house of ours.

About Sugar Plum Runner

Welcome to the Sugar Plum Runner! I grew up in WA state, but currently reside in UT with my husband Josh, son Jackson, and 2 daughters Lily and Claire. I love running, but I have never been so inspired to run, race, and blog about it since 4 years ago after I had Jackson. I grew up playing soccer and cheered in high school. My favorite part of both sports(and yes I consider cheer leading a sport) was the conditioning. I found myself running after practice was over on my own. That's when I realized that running may be the sport I really loved.

I can’t even remember what I was like in kindergarten! All I can recall is liking beanie babies and having imaginary friends 🙂

I love everything on the grill, but veggies definitely test best grilled or roasted (I am not a fan of steamed veggies). I’m not sure what I was like in kindergarten. from what I can remember a little bossy and a little insecure, which seems like a strange combo, but I have memories of both.

  4. Those teriyaki kabobs look marvelous!

  5. Those kabobs look amazing! I love that you and J were able to see your MIL’s play with her students. I am in love with grilling season too, and it always makes me want a burger and go lay out by the pool. 🙂

  7. Oh gotta love sand everywhere! The car is the best. Or some how it gets in my purse! What’s that about!?! Yum, kabobs! I’m with you love barbeque season!
