Running before Dawn and coconut goodness

Saturday- 8 miles outside with Heather

Heather and I haven’t been able to run together for the last couple of weeks because of busy schedules. We FINALLY got to run together again and it was wonderful. She was even willing to get up before 6am to run with me so I could make it to my other commitments. That is true friendship. She also showed her true friendship when we had to make a little detour on our run. That is all I’ll say=)

It was a gorgeous morning! Running before dawn is quite refreshing. I don’t think I could do it everyday, but the days I do I never regret it. It’s peaceful.

Rewinding to Friday night. Josh, Mckae(my awesome cousin) J, and I went to Freebirds World Burritos.  This place is amazing! It’s new to UT and I’m not joking, I love it! I’m such a burrito snob. I’m not a huge fan of Chipotle, I don’t like Mountain West burritos at all, but Freebirds is sooo good. Al the ingredients are fresh, so many choices, and incredibly flavorful. I’m not getting paid for this, I just need you all to know my love for this place=)

You can choose a whole wheat tortilla, flour, spinach, or spicy. I chose whole wheat.

Saturday afternoon me, my mom, and my sisters threw Mckae a bridal shower. It was really fun and great to see some family members. We’re so excited for Mckae and Devin!

The night before the shower I was cleaning and prepping, and so J thought he’d help too. He is such a sweetheart. Sorry for the blurriness, I was trying to sneak it.

Saturday night we went out to Sushi with Josh’s cousin and his family. It was cut short when J threw up(too many sweets at the bridal shower). Poor thing was so excited to be getting boba at Pirate O’s. He ran in screaming, “Pirate O’s!” and then threw up right as we walked in. No boba for us ha

Sunday morning I made pancakes so we could try the coconut syrup my sister brought back from Hawaii. I’m not even a big fan of coconut and I thought it was delicious!

We headed to church and then dinner at my sister’s to celebrate my mom’s Birthday and Mother’s Day. She did not disappoint, salmon and steak!

About Sugar Plum Runner

Welcome to the Sugar Plum Runner! I grew up in WA state, but currently reside in UT with my husband Josh, son Jackson, and 2 daughters Lily and Claire. I love running, but I have never been so inspired to run, race, and blog about it since 4 years ago after I had Jackson. I grew up playing soccer and cheered in high school. My favorite part of both sports(and yes I consider cheer leading a sport) was the conditioning. I found myself running after practice was over on my own. That's when I realized that running may be the sport I really loved.

sounds like a very fun and busy weekend! that picture with you and your mom is lovely by the way.

  2. Love that pic of you and mama!! Have a great week!

  3. Freebirds is SO GOOD. I really love Chipotle because of their guac, but freebirds is SO good because of their yummy queso. It’s a HUGE deal down here. It always amazes me how I can leave Freebirds having spent like $12 on a burrito. I can’t say no to all the sides. hahaha

Looks like a good burrito! I love early morning running 🙂

  5. Sounds like a busy and amazing weekend! I love Freebirds – especially the fact that you can get different sized burritos! I don’t feel as bad that I ate a whole one if it was a “small”. haha

That coconut syrup also sounds amazing! 🙂

What a beautiful photo! I love running pre-dawn for that reason. Probably not something I could do every day, but I also enjoy it when I do. I’m so glad you had a great weekend!

  7. Poor little guy!! They’re putting in a boba place up in this area! Can’t wait!
