More downhill running and a museum

Happy Memorial Day!  Today I’m running a 10k Run of Remembrance race, I’ll let ya know how it goes. I love doing this race every year, because it gives me time to reflect how blessed I am to be in the USA because of all our veterans past, present, and future.

Workout

Saturday- 7 miles downhill training with Heather

Sunday-rest

Saturday Heather and I did another downhill run. It was pouring rain and our shoes were squishy, but we ran it anyway. I love doing runs that you didn’t necessarily want to do, but by the end you’re so glad you did them. You never know what race day could bring, so it’s good to train in all weather conditions.

We were able to pick up our speed by a lot on this run, even running a 7:43 mile! We finished 7 miles in less than an hour, and felt a lot stronger. I’m still pretty sore, but not as bad as last time. We’re hoping to get one more downhill train before our downhill race in 3 weeks.

Backing up to the weekend. Friday we all went out to Olive Garden. My cousin Mckae, has been staying with us before her wedding, so Friday we had a farewell dinner for her. She’s headed back to WA to be with her family and help prep for the final touches on her wedding. I took some bridals and can’t wait to share some, she’s so gorgeous! We also ran into Heather! Milla and J had their first unofficial date;)

Saturday we headed to the Natural History Museum and Red Robin with Josh’s family and grandparents. J loved it! He loves dinosaurs, so his favorite was all the ‘dinosaur skeletons’ lol

Sunday after church, we headed to my sister Neeley’s house for dinner. My brother and his family are in town for a wedding, so we threw my SIL and nephew birthday parties before they left(both bdays were this weekend). It was so fun to see my brother and his family because we rarely get to see them. J of course had fun with his cousins. I mean, watermelon and cheesecake?

About Sugar Plum Runner

Welcome to the Sugar Plum Runner! I grew up in WA state, but currently reside in UT with my husband Josh, son Jackson, and 2 daughters Lily and Claire. I love running, but I have never been so inspired to run, race, and blog about it since 4 years ago after I had Jackson. I grew up playing soccer and cheered in high school. My favorite part of both sports(and yes I consider cheer leading a sport) was the conditioning. I found myself running after practice was over on my own. That's when I realized that running may be the sport I really loved.
